Rants & Raves

Comments from readers:

HOW NICE TO READ about Eli Herrera in the paper of my hometown online. He reminds me of my father and his lessons to us. My father also worked long hours every single day of the week to provide for us two kids in the family. We also provided for some other poor cousins of the family as well, and I learned to work long hours myself to provide for me and others. (I chose not to bring kids into the world but help other starving and otherwise neglected children already in the world.) If more people could work at providing for their own direct and indirect relatives, we would not have so many people depending on these generous organizations.

I SALUTE U.S. REP John Barrow for his inclusive happy holidays greetings. A rant to the ranter who wanted to insist on Christmas to be spelled out every single greeting of this season. Every single religion in this free country, from Buddhist, Jewish, Muslim, and nonreligion of atheism and others, happy holidays!

A HUGE RAVE TO ALL the bell ringers for the Salvation Army at Christmas and especially to the three ringers who participated in the battle of the bell ringers! You are special folks and I hope you have a wonderful new year!

SWITZERLAND: 33 million citizens, 15 million fully automatic machine guns. Average number of annual deaths involving firearms? Four. It ain’t the guns, friends.

THE AUGUSTA YDC HAS proved to be a gross example of the incompetence of modern governments to get anything right. Much tax money has been wasted, incompetents have been hired and people have died. Much cheaper and proved effective would be to use chain gangs. They were so rough those prisoners, once freed, would go to any lengths – even that of being law-abiding – to avoid being put back on a chain gang.

MILLIONAIRE GEORGE Bush Sr. is still on the public dole, namely now that he’s sick he is using tax paid U.S. Marines as servants. Who ever thought of giving politicians retirement benefits? Terrible idea. If the world lasts that long, President Obama will be flying to Hawaii for the next 40 years on our dime.

A RANTER IS HAPPY that Obama is president because Obama won’t “get us into another war.” If the ranter would pay attention, he’d see Obama is already setting us up to join the latest Middle East war (Syria), via NATO.

"...Bush Sr. is still on the public dole..."

Odd, I missed the ranter's anxiety for Carter and Clinton living off the public dole. Also missed the horror that they, as well as the current occupier of the White House had very modest fortunes going into their terms but amassed millions while in office and since.

We did hear about Bush 41 and 43's wealth, as well as Romney's, but they earned theirs in the private sector, so they are eeeeevil, while becoming multimillionaires as the result of office, well, thats O-kay.

I hear that upon Obama's

I hear that upon Obama's termination he will move his family to the 40 million dollar home in Hawaii...that he has no intention of raising his children in Chicago, that he found the city useful once but no more.
We will see....

Best post all year from Riverman.....FUNNY!

The Way Countyman Divides the County

Countyman divides up Richmond County in ways unknown to others. He has southeast, southwest, central business district, left central business district, entertainment area, medical district, south of Broad (well, maybe that's Charleston), north of Broad, Ruff House area, gay district, and if you don't know them you are out of luck with an LOL on the end of it. Don't y'all know Augusta is the fastest rising city in the southeast? I'm not sure if that's the southeastern US, Georgia or Richmond County.

Finally some sense in his land division....hahah

Chicago Chicago

CHICAGO — In 2012, the body count — 506 murders — marked Chicago as America’s murder capital.

But here’s another grim statistic: Chicago police solved just 129 of those killings last year, a 25 percent clearance rate — the lowest in 21 years.

Nahhhh....I don't see Pres Obama living in the windy city again ..EVER & amen....that 14 million $$ estate will be his abode & the folks in Chicago can fly a kite.....

And even when police clear murder cases, that doesn’t mean someone always gets charged with murder.

We have lost our minds

A firm that makes bulletproof vests is now creating armored clothing for children.

How is that pc way of life working folks....if we have to have armored wear for kids we need our behinds kicked to neverland.....unbelievable...because we are letting the crazies run our world now.....when I see Clayton county vote in a Sheriff that cost them MILLIONS in lawsuits....I realize we have lost control of any sanity in our system of government....

SWITZERLAND: 33M citizens, 15M fully automatic Weapons

SWITZERLAND: Actually has a law requiring all citizens to train in national defense and they must have a fully automatic machine gun and Ammo on site.

It ain’t the guns, it is the difference between Switzerland's and USA's economics, culture and demographics.

Actually The Augusta YDC is a gross example of:

Liberal sociologists with no idea of what causes real life JD's, run a muck.

Then going over board trying play mother & father hoping it will rub off.

If the JD is over 12, then MOST are, who they will be the rest of their lives. No matter how much they try to get in the JD's head .

People across the CSRA

People across the CSRA shopped at Hobby Lobby Saturday to show their support for the company's decision to defy Obamacare. Will this make the AC today or is this news worthy?

About the Polite Society

The benefit of politeness with everyone having guns reminds me of Little Big Man and Dustin Hoffman as Jack Crabb. When he became proficient as a gunfighter and went to the saloon everyone was exceedingly nice to him and to each other. Even Wild Bill Hickock became cautious and polite.

Absotively! The gun grabbers want to tout places like Japan and some of the Scandinavian countries as examples of where very tight controls on guns have equivalence to low murder rates.

Well DUH! They don't have to deal with the very things you just mentioned.... Their murder rates would be very low under any circumstances; not to mention, if the citizenry had to deal with the same kind of low lifes we do, they wouldn't be so submissive to gun control.

The names Medical District,

The names Medical District, Central Business District, etc have been around for a while.

You guys continue to make everything about me instead of focusing on the subject at hand.

I can't believe the people who swear the know so much about Augusta haven't seen these names before.

Riverman can mentioned a 100 fake areas, but it won't change the facts. Plus I find it hilarious Seenitb4 thinks everybody living in Richmond County hears gunshots.

Sweet stuff this day!

Thanks SeenitB4. We love you!

Rave also regarding the Salvation Army's bell ringers. I say our District Attorney Ashley Wright ringing the bell at the Bobby Jones Walmart! Thanks to Ashley and all of those who participated!

And yes, like Seenit we grew up in a time when it was OK to come home at dark and our Mothers didn't worryl.
