JUST WONDER IF John Barrow would run that gun ad now?

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE Valdosta State Blazers for winning the Division II national championship. It was a great example of the football that is played in Georgia and the Southeast. High school athletes and parents would do well to take a look at VSU when looking for a school that has a good rep in sports and academics.

RAVE TO SCOTT MICHAUX for his column. The Chronicle’s editorial writers should be so good!

TO ALL THE RANTS about Obama. Deal with it. He won again so get back in check.

I REALLY APPRECIATE THE fact Georgia Southern finally got some coverage from your paper. It was wonderful to have information about them all week. Thank you.

I AM AMAZED THAT the public is shocked by murder in the schools. What do they expect when they remove “thou shall not murder” from schools? We get what we ask for.

I WAS WRONG TO SUGGEST Big Bird for president. I should have suggested Alfred E. Newman because that is who they elected.

I WANT TO THANK ALL Augusta Fire Department members for the fruit basket and gift certificate that they give to the widow ladies every year. May God bless you and keep you safe.

THE PERSON WHO THREW OUT the small, tan Chihuahua on Bettis Academy Road did him a favor since the person behind him worked at the Aiken County shelter. They found him a great, loving home. Your bad deed worked for good in the end.

THOSE IN CONGRESS WHO are now looking at gun control are the same fools who signed a 2,300-page health care bill into law without reading it.

LOVE THAT Argyle Sweater cartoon in the paper. Look forward to reading it every day.

Good morning folks!!!

Jokes, Funny, laughs and Quotes

When I went to lunch today, I noticed this elderly man about 75 to 80 years old sitting on a bench near the shopping centre sobbing his eyes out. I stopped and asked him what was wrong. He said, 'I have a 22 year-old wife at home. She makes love to me every morning and then gets up and makes me pancakes, sausage, fresh fruit and freshly brewed coffee.' I said, 'Well, then why are you crying?' He said, 'She makes me homemade soup for lunch and my favorite brownies and then makes love to me half the afternoon.' I asked again, 'So why are you crying?' He continued, 'For dinner she makes me a gourmet meal with wine and my favorite dessert and then makes love to me until midnight.' I said, 'Well, why in the world would you be crying?'

He answered, 'I can't remember where I live.':)

Here we go.....

The ISRA has learned from a credible source that Illinois Senate President John Cullerton [above] will introduce a so called ‘assault weapons’ ban on Wednesday when the legislature returns for its ‘lame duck’ session. Cullerton hopes to ramrod the bill through and get it to Governor Quinn for signature by Friday. If he is successful at doing so, nearly every gun you currently own will be banned and will be subject to confiscation by the Illinois State Police . . .

“Based on what we know about Cullerton’s bill, firearms that would be banned include all semiautomatic rifles, pistols, and shotguns. Pump action shotguns would be banned as well. This would be a very comprehensive ban that would include not only so-called ‘assault weapons’ but also such classics as M1 Garands and 1911-based pistols. There would be no exemptions and no grandfathering. You would have a very short window to turn in your guns to the State Police to avoid prosecution.”

Don't know if this is true BUT this doesn't surprise me...

Double standard??

The Journal News of West Nyack, New York doesn't want fellow New Yorkers to be allowed to own guns, and what better way to show support for its stand against guns than to hire armed guards to patrol its offices?

The suburban Westchester Journal News made itself the center of a controversy by publishing the names and addresses of thousands of New York's legal gun owners in an interactive map on its website. It was accompanied by an article supportive of "a raft of new gun laws" at the state and federal level.

In response to the paper's article, several bloggers decided to create an interactive map of employees of the Journal News.

The paper then moved to up the ante and announced it would publish even more names and addresses of New York's law-abiding firearm owners.

In the meantime, however, it appears that the Journal News has decided to hire armed guards to protect its offices.

The Rockland County Times reported Tuesday that the Journal News had hired RGA Investigations, a private security company, to patrol its offices.

These guards "are armed and will be on site during business hours through at least January 2, 2013," Rockland Times reports.

Went to A.D. Hains. They had closed Fleming before I made it there. My brother went there in 1st grade though. Would have been around 66. I started at Hains in 69.

This one Vent clearly summed up the logic in Congress

"THOSE IN CONGRESS WHO are now looking at gun control are the same fools who signed a 2,300-page health care bill into law without reading it."

Too bad we can't also vote on the Raves and Rants comments.

alright, alright.....surely there were parents of the poor children/adults killed that day that believed in God and the ppl that something similar had happened so to go that far is a little to far in my opinion. Put blame where it belongs. PEOPLE (Government) Need improvement in care (the locked up in a looney bin kinda care) and monitoring of the mentally ill beings. Keep them off the streets!!!!!!!! Stop trying to be PC! Innocent ppl are dying because of it!....Thank you.

Good Morning from Detroit

Just dropped a load of engines at Chrysler. Now waiting for a load of empty racks to take back to Mexico. If the American auto industry is doing so great why am I hauling empty racks to Mexico and racks full of engines from Mexico? But it works for me. I get paid by one of those nasty millionaires to haul for one of those even nastier big corps.

The Gun Control Issue

Many may have already seen this, it is long but worth every word spoken.

THIS IS THE VOICE IN THE DARKNESS-------THAT ALL NEED TO HEAR:

COLUMBINE STUDENT'S FATHER 12 YEARS
LATER !!
Guess our national leaders didn't expect this. On
Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the
Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado, was invited
to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he
said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress
was painfully truthful.

They were not prepared for what he
was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every
parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every
psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words
spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply
personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying
in the wilderness.. The following is a portion of the
transcript:

"Since the dawn of creation there has been both
good & evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the
seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my
wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic
teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain.
Their blood cries out for answers.

"The first recorded act of
violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The
villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the
National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason
for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart.

"In the
days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how
quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am
not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun.
I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't
believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore
I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they
had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest
opponent

I am here today to declare that Columbine was not
just a tragedy -- it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us
to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in
this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the
accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that
expresses my feelings best.

Your laws ignore our deepest
needs,
Your words are empty air.
You've stripped away our
heritage,
You've outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our
classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers
everywhere,
And ask the question "Why?"
You regulate
restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail
to understand,
That God is what we need!

"Men and
women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and
spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up,
we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in
and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our
educational systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our
major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical
fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor
God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And
when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs --
politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They
immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to
erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more
restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by
metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends
months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within
our own hearts.

"As my son Craig lay under that table in the
school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very
eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or
politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in
America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999,
at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do
not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare
to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for
legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with
Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA -- I

give to you a sincere challenge.. Dare to examine your own heart
before casting the first stone!
My daughter's death will not be
in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to
happen!"
- Darrell Scott

Do what the media did not - - let
the nation hear this man's speech. Please send this out to everyone
you can.
God Bless

SCOTT MICHAUX is okay if you hate guns and football

SCOTT MICHAUX is okay if you hate guns and football. The last time he picked a football game right was when Florida played Charleston Southern. But he's great for talking about not anchoring your putter and praising anemic looking 100 lb cross-country runners wearing running gloves on their little hands.

Although shunning God is surely part of the problem.....
Unpublished

It definitely is not all of the problem. Sick ppl not getting "proper care" (locked-up-in-the-looney-bin kinda care!) is an enormous part of it. Had his mother sought help for her son (which she knew was mentally ill to one extent) instead of picking up new hobbies and visiting the bar often enough she was considered a regular, perhaps this would have never happened. God holds us responsible for our own actions.

"TO ALL THE RANTS about

"TO ALL THE RANTS about Obama. Deal with it. He won again so get back in check."

Yeh, that's what we told you when Bush won. Did that work? YOU DEAL WITH IT.

He got his tax increase and spent it already. He is NOW calling for more tax increases. He has not proposed ANY spending cuts. We are at a projected $20+ TRILLION dollar debt on our current track by the end of Obama's term, over 100% increase in our 240 year accumulated national debt in Obama's short 8 year terms. We are spending $4 BILLION dollars a DAY....A DAY......$4 BILLION more a DAY than we take in. WHERE ARE THE SPENDING CUTS OBAMA?

Obama and the Democrats are dilusional when it comes to spending. They use the Nancy Pelosi theory of budgeting. "We've got to spend the money first to see where it comes from."

Ranter #4......CHECK THIS....oh, you can't see me can you.

We Don't Have To Pray Aloud.....

George, the saddest thing about Mr. Scott's letter is that the so-called leaders that heard it, have now forgotten it. It meant nothing to their GODless brains, they were only at that meeting for "show". A letter that was meaningul and heartfelt is nothing to those people. As I have said before, all these politicians had better enjoy what they have, because this is probably the only "reward" they will ever have(if they do Not change)! Thanks for showing it, I had not seen it for a while....
