WE ARE NOT banning people from owning guns. We are trying to ban guns from owning people.

HOW IRONIC THAT a ranter calls people opposed to Obama’s grossly wasteful spending “ignorant.” It is, alas, the ignorant who both elected and re-elected Obama, who continues to push the same, and worse, moves that have already driven us into debt to above $12 trillion. It’s the ignorant who believe you can spend money you don’t even have.

BOTH BIG PARTIES in Washington are responsible for the disastrous federal debt fiasco. The House of Reps is supposed to control ALL spending. So, CONTROL IT! Don’t let maniac Obama get near it.

A ‘REVIEW’ FINDS security faults in the Benghazi tragedy, but rather than blame it on the top dogs, those who are supposed to be responsible – namely Obama and Hillary – it blames their underlings.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED to traffic light programming for Columbia County? It’s horrible. Appears none of the in-ground sensors are working. Many of the cross walk lights work.

RANT ON RICHMOND COUNTY who never helps the many whites who are also poor and need help. However, Richmond County always helps the black community. The whites are overlooked. I am sure it is because of the many blacks that are ruling over us. Maybe we ought to go on TV or down to town hall and protest.

CAN SOMEBODY EXPLAIN to me how two deaths of teenagers could be considered a misdemeanor vehicular homicide?

TO THE PERSON COMPLAINING about the placement of the historical marker, obviously you haven’t been to Gettysburg, where there are many markers honoring Confederates.

Correct about the traffic lights.

Many of these lights had in-ground sensors and nearby programming modules to sense traffic. They worked pretty well as smart lights. If there was nobody around but you, the light would change for you.

But it seems they've disabled many of them in favor of this new "adaptive" technology that is supposed to sense traffic flow and give preference to one street over another. The trouble is, it doesn't work. I've sat for longer than ever at lights trying to cross Washington Rd. early and late with very light Washington Rd. traffic only to wait and wait and wait.

The old in-ground sensors worked better.

On Friday morning, going to work I was sitting trying to turn left onto Pleasant Home Rd. at the Riverwatch Pkwy. light. There was no one to my left on Pleasant Home; there was no oncoming traffic, and there was another car to my right waiting with me at the red light. We waited and waited and waited.

Something's wrong with the current programming of these lights.

Crony Capitalism

I salute Human Events environmental and energy reporter Audrey Hudson. She has had several hard-hitting columns this year dealing both with crushing over-regulation at EPA and corruption in DOE's "green energy" handouts to companies that ultimately fail, taking their taxpayer grants to the bank with them.

A recent one was about a failed solar energy company called A123. That scenario has become common, but the wrinkle here is now that the company is bankrupt, a Chinese company has become the highest bidder for its assets (assets it proposes to slurp up for pennies on the dollar). The trouble is that some of the patents and technology are used by the U.S. military to operate war equipment. Some senators are upset that the Obama administration is going ahead with the sale against the wishes of many in Congress.

Here is a good excerpt from the story:

Republican Sens. Chuck Grassley of Iowa and John Thune of South Dakota have been leading critics of taxpayer dollars being spent to support A123's now–failed business and is pending sale for pennies on the dollar. “The president borrowed money to pay for his $800 billion stimulus bill, and then gambled thses funds away on now–bankrupt green energy ventures,” Thune said. “President Obama’s energy policy has been a win-win for China and a lose-lose for the American taxpayer. In the end, the taxpayers will be left having to repay interest to China for a business that a Chinese company now owns,” Thune said.

Here's a link to the whole sordid story:

Gingrich and the Cliff

Not too much interest in tomorrow's R&Rs tonight. I guess the bowl games are tight.

Anyway, Newt Gingrich wrote a column full of wisdom in last week's issue of Human Events. Unfortunately, Boehner nor McConnell bothered to read it, because they're not taking his advice. Here is an excerpt:

Some Republicans suggest that surrendering on taxes now will somehow lead to better negotiations with President Obama in the future. They assert that giving the president higher taxes might mellow him and encourage him to offer substantial entitlement reforms later. What possible pressure could there be on the president to make greater concessions after he has gotten the increased taxes and spending? If he won't give it to you to get the taxes he wants, why would he give it to you for nothing? In fact, the exact opposite will happen. Once House Republicans prove they will cave on taxes, President Obama will assume they will cave on everything. Expanded spending, additional forms of income transfer, greater bureaucracy, weaker defenses, more taxes when the current increases don't “solve” the deficit.

The column is hard-hitting and full of experience and logic. Here's a link to the whole column:

Banning Guns

I apologize for the length (please don't slap me Sean), but it just illustrates the idiocy of going after a specific kind of tool and not the guy who will use it, or whatever he can get his hands on.

"Senator Dianne Feinstein is queuing up come January 2013 to retable—yet again—an Assault Weapons Ban (AWB) in order to “severely mitigate the possibilities of another Sandy Hook atrocity.” Great idea, Dianne, as the first AWB that Clinton signed into law worked wonders in schools from 1994-2004. It was awesome. It panned out wonderfully aside from the following:

November 7, 1994: Wickliffe, Ohio: (Wickliffe Middle School shooting) Keith Ledeger, 37, a former student at the school, shot and killed custodian Pete Christopher and wounded four other adults.

January 12, 1995: Seattle, Washington: A 15-year-old Garfield High School student left school during the day and returned with his grandfather’s 9mm semiautomatic handgun. He wounded two students.

October 12, 1995: Blackville, South Carolina: (Blackville-Hilda High School shooting) Anthony Sincino, 16, killed one teacher and wounded another before committing suicide.

November 15, 1995: Lynnville, Tennessee: (Richland High School shooting) James Rouse, 17, killed a student and teacher and seriously wounded another teacher with a .22-caliber rifle.

February 2, 1996: Moses Lake, Washington: (Frontier Middle School shooting) Barry Loukaitis, 14, killed a teacher and two students and wounded another student when he opened fire on his algebra class.

August 15, 1996: San Diego, California: (San Diego State University shooting) Frederick Martin Davidson, a 36-year-old graduate student killed three professors that he believed were involved in a conspiracy against him.

September 17, 1996: State College, Pennsylvania: (Hetzel Union Building shooting) Jillian Robbins, 19, shoots and kills one student and injures two outside.

February 19, 1997: Bethel, Alaska: Bethel Regional High School student Evan Ramsey, 16, shot and killed the school’s principal and one student, and wounded two other students.

October 1, 1997: Pearl, Mississippi: (Pearl High School shooting) Luke Woodham, 16, murdered his mother at home before killing his ex-girlfriend and another student and wounding seven others at Pearl High School. He and his friends were said to be outcasts who worshiped Satan.

November 27, 1997: West Palm Beach, Florida: Conniston Middle School student Tronneal Magnum, 14, fatally shot Johnpierre Kamel, 14, outside school after an argument over a wristwatch.

December 1, 1997: West Paducah, Kentucky: (Heath High School shooting) Three students were killed and five wounded by Michael Carneal, 14, as they participated in a prayer circle.

December 15, 1997: Stamps, Arkansas: Joseph “Colt” Todd, 14, concealed in a wooded area on school grounds, shoots and wounds two students as they were entering Stamps High School.

March 24, 1998: Craighead County, Arkansas: Mitchell Johnson, 13, and Andrew Golden, 11, killed four students and one teacher and wounded ten others as Westside Middle School emptied during a fire alarm intentionally set off by Golden.

April 24, 1998: Edinboro, Pennsylvania (Parker Middle School dance shooting) Andrew Wurst, 14, fatally shot teacher John Gillette, 48, and wounded two students and a teacher at an 8th grade graduation dance.

May 19, 1998: Fayetteville, Tennessee: Jacob Davis, 18, shoots Robert Creson, 18, in a dispute over a girl.

May 21, 1998: Springfield, Oregon: After killing his parents at home, Kip Kinkel, 15, drove to Thurston High School where he shot and killed two students and wounded 25 others.

June 15, 1998: Richmond, Virginia: A 14-year-old student of Armstrong High School wounds a teacher and a school volunteer.

December 10, 1998: Detroit, Michigan: Professor Andrzej Olbrot is killed by graduate student Wlodzimierz Dedecjus, 48.

April 20, 1999: Littleton, Colorado: (Columbine High School massacre) Eric Harris, 18, and Dylan Klebold, 17, killed 12 students and one teacher, and wounded 21 others before committing suicide at Columbine High School.

May 20, 1999: Conyers, Georgia: (Heritage High School shooting) Six students injured by Thomas Solomon Jr., 15.

November 19, 1999: Deming, New Mexico: A 13-year-old girl fatally shot at Deming Middle School by Victor Cordova Jr., 13. Cordova stated he had intended to commit suicide but was jostled by others and the gun moved.

February 29, 2000: Elementary School, Flint, Michigan: 6-year-old Dedrick Owens, youngest-ever school shooter. Kayla Rolland was the single fatality.

May 26, 2000: Lake Worth, Florida: Lake Worth Middle School Florida teacher Barry Grunow was fatally shot by his student, 13-year-old Nathaniel Brazill, who had returned to school after being sent home at 1 p.m. by the assistant principal for throwing water balloons. Brazill returned to school on his bike with a 5-inch Raven and four bullets stolen from his grandfather the week before. Brazill was an honor student. Grunow was a popular teacher and Brazill's favorite.

August 28, 2000: University of Arkansas shooting at Fayetteville, Arkansas: At approximately 12:14 pm, Dr. John R. Locke, 67, Director of the Comparative Literature Program was shot and killed in his office by James E. Kelly, 36, a Comparative Literature PhD candidate who had recently been dismissed from the program for lack of progress toward his degree. Kelly shot Dr. Locke three times before taking his own life in Dr. Locke's office after it was cordoned off by campus police.

September 26, 2000: Darrel Johnson, 13, offender in Louisiana school shooting with 1 student fatality.

March 5, 2001: Charles Andrew William, age 15, offender in California school shooting at Santana High School, 15 wounded 2 of whom died.

March 30, 2001: Donald R. Burt Jr., age 18, offender in Indiana school shooting with 1 student fatality.

September 24, 2003: John Jason McLaughlin, age 15, offender in Minnesota school shooting with 2 student fatalities.

February 2, 2004: Unidentified offender in Washington, DC school shooting with 1 student fatality.

May 7, 2004: Unidentified 17-year-old offender in Maryland school shooting with 1 student fatality.

And that’s excluding the Fairchild Air Force Base Massacre in 1994; the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building Massacre in 1995; the Caltrans Maintenance Yard Massacre in 1997; the Connecticut State Lottery Headquarters Massacre in 1998; the Wedgewood Baptist Church Massacre of 1999; the Xerox Office Building Massacre in 1999; the Edgewater Technology Office Massacre in 2000; and the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks which killed nearly 3,000 people (in which the culprits used box cutters and airplanes to pull that one off). We should have had an Assault Box Cutter and Airplane Ban in place I guess.

Yep, excluding the aforementioned, the AWB that the Left put into practice nearly two decades ago really mitigated murderous schoolyard and workplace evil for its ten-year run, right?"

I heard it on NPR . . .

. . . this morning on the way home from church, so you know it must be true:

That is, Obama's latest offer in the fiscal cliff "deal" is to keep the current income tax rates where they are today for those making under $250,000 (married couple) and to allow the rates to return to the Clinton-era rates for those above AND to extend unemployment compensation benefit payments indefinitely for those collecting unemployment.

In other words, more taxes and more spending. What kind of compromise is that?

Obama is in the process of "fundamentally changing" America as he promised. This "fiscal cliff" and the upcoming "debt ceiling" fiascoes are simply steps along the path to achieving that "fundamental change."

What is the "fundamental change?" The fall of Capitalism and Democracy in America.

We are all witnesses to history.

Those folks ARE on the list of job seekers. If they're not actively seeking employment they are not eligible for Unemployment. The issue to be concerned with as regards them is whether (or how hard) they seek employment when they're being paid to NOT work.

Digging I noted the primary weapon was a pistol, rifle or shotgun.
Only 1 shooting possibly involved Assault Weapon

Regarding the shooting/massacre at Sandy Hook

As many of you may recall, there were at least two other suspects who fled the scene that day, according to initial reports, one of whom was taken down in the woods next to the school. But these two suspects completely disappeared from all subsequent media reports, and ONLY Lanza was said to have committed the shooting.

In fact the “official story” surrounding the Sandy Hook massacre, in fact, has start to have loose edges. An there are a number of increasing inconsistencies. Like the one I reported where the Connecticut State Patrol changed its findings to match Washington DC press release the next morning. The Connecticut State Patrol were clear in their 11pm News conference the night before, that suspect used 2 9mm pistols and the 223 rifle found was found in a car OUTSIDE. A few kids an teachers stated the same thing. They never saw a long firearm, just short ones.

SO I ASK
Are we seeing America's version of the Kristallnacht, "Night of (broken) Crystal?

I think the "official story" changed as more and more information became available and was verified.

My understanding of the current "official story" is that the single perpetrator had three guns inside the school. One Bushmaster AR-15, and two handguns. Left in the car was a shotgun.

Your comparison between what you perceive to be the manipulation of the official accounts of the Sandy Hook School shootings and the horrific events of November 1938 carried out by German/Austrian Nazi party members and paramilitary where 30,000 Jews were arrested and nearly 100 innocents killed is an insult to the every Jewish person living or dead that understands what happened during those four terrible nights. Kristallnacht translated is the Night of Broken Glass and not broken crystal. There is simply no comparison. If your analogy was meant to bring attention to the power of "government" in rewriting facts to fit a particular agenda, then there are more recent and appropriate examples of just such behaviors...namely, the Bush adminstration's outright lies and obfucations used to whip up sentiment for our economic and emotionally devastating invasion of Iraq. That "war" was and continues to be the largest raid on the US Treasury in our history.

See : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kristallnacht
Kristallnacht, Crystal Night. Also referred to as the Night of Broken Glass, or Reichskristallnacht So my "Night of (broken) Crystal?" is mix of my 4 years in Germany, England and etc. I am slightly backwards.

My ref: Was in the form of; Have we seen a staged problem, like Bush Sr. (Panama), like Clinton (N. Korea, Solmalia), like Bush Jr. (Iraq) or OBAMA (Fast an the Furious, Lybia) to justify a path of wanted action. To Crystallize the populous into action the way they wished, so to speak?

BTW: Bantana- You had no way of knowing my European side of the family is a mix of part Jews, Catholics and Protestants. We lost a number of family members in the South Poland/Austrian area in 1940-42. On the USA side we lost family in 1944. All fighting Nationalized Socialism.

So Trust is not something I have for people with Socialist Agendas. They have cost our Family's linage to many to often.

-------------------

Changes To Official Stories
That is why I waited until the Police briefing late that night. It was held well over 8 hours after the Scene was cleared, of the shooting. Yes I am suspicious when "key" facts are changed like the weapons used. Even more so with an Federal announcement <30 hours later pushing the BAN on a weapon they themselves criminally sold to drug dealers, a few years earlier trying use the results as an excuse to BAN or restrict it.

Even the Mexico Government protested that 65+ Mexican citizens were killed because of the OBAMA Fast an the Furious illegal operation.

Add to that the STILL CHANGING OFFICIAL STORY of the Obama 9-11-12 Libya Embassy staff deaths.

These are all quick examples of how Official Stories change to fit political agendas.

ADDED NOTES:
The Illegal Fast and The Furious Gun Running operation also killed US Citizens and Federal Agents. In the Congressional Investigation it was uncovered a DOJ Memo that stated efforts were to fast track the passage of tighter gun control laws.

Hence part of the reason for the Operations Name FAST to speed it up and FURIOUS - heating up public resentment.

LATEST FACTS
Examples are abundant in even this paper with the Updates we regularly see for many articles.

In this sad incident, we see an issue that was a tailor fit solution to the a long term stumbling block for the Socialists and Progressives. Called Civilian Private Gun Ownership.

I am sincerely sorry for your losses. I too am of east European descent and every single Jew I have ever known greatly resents any attempt to compare any event to what happened to the Jews at the hands of the Nazis and their sympathizers. I stand by my comment that the lies of the Bush administration continues to be the greatest travesty of the 21st century, if not the last 200 years of our experiment in nation building. There is nothing in the record of the current administration that compares to the scale of damage inflicted, plundering, cynicism and audacity of Cheney-Bush gang in regards to that needless "war".
