Woman seeks better holiday for grandchildren

  • Follow Metro

An Augusta woman is raising her three grandchildren and would appreciate a better Christmas for them this year.

“Three years ago my daughter was hit by a car and is now permanently in a nursing home,” she writes. “I’m raising my grandchildren by myself on a very limited income and need help to give them a decent Christmas.”

The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 82 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $104,000 that helped children and families across the region.
