Mother doesn't want boys to go without

  • Follow Metro

An Augusta mother of three boys is asking for help for the first time. She writes that her husband lost his job not long after the family bought its first, modest home earlier this year. Family members have stepped in to help them make payments, but anything else has been a challenge.

“What helps us keep going is the boys,” she writes. “It helps when life seems impossible. They are blessings and it breaks my heart to see them go without.

“Knowing our need this year, we will hopefully be on the giving side next year to a family experiencing what we have experienced. Thank you and know we are grateful.”

The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 82 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $104,000 that helped children and families across the region.
