THE AUGUSTA Chronicle has been having much better success in endorsing onerous, burdensome tax hike bills than in endorsing political candidates.

NOT SURE HOW racism plays into being president of the United States of America, but if you are given the title then you are the person in responsible charge. You get the privilege of taking the heat for the good and the bad things that happen in the USA.

DURING THE RECENT local campaign, we learned that Mr. Fennoy is a retired health educator. I am not familiar with this term and would like to know what it really means.

THE PEOPLE THAT still blame Bush for the mess our economy is in have forgotten that in the last two years of his presidency he had a Democratic Congress and couldn’t do anything, while Obama also had a Democratic Congress for two years at the beginning of his presidency and didn’t do anything. He is determined to destroy our great country that I fought for in 1943 until 1946.

AZZIZ HAS WASTED far more on dinners and parties than he will save by laying off those people.

THE ARGYLE SWEATER is about the worst comic that I have ever read. Half the time it makes no sense.

BIG RAVE FOR THE Willie Nelson concert. He and his family put on an outstanding show. He is a very personable man; signed autographs after the show and I was the lucky one to kiss him on the cheek and shake his hand. Keep the shows coming. We love you, Willie!

A RANT IS IN ORDER for the PGA on the long putter. I don’t hear complaints about the new, bigger, better clubs, or balls, etc., being made to assist in playing better golf. How about the GPS handheld yardage equipment that is used prior to playing in a tournament? They take out the guessing of yardage. The markers in the fairways was what was used before. How about the little handbooks with all the information in it and a drawing of the fairways and greens. That’s not fair when it comes to playing golf. Making your own by walking out the course is acceptable. I was just saying …

Retired Health Educator

Retired means he doesn’t do it anymore
Health means physical well being
Educator means teacher

Easier to understand than chemical operator if you ask me.

Ask Deke what he used to do if you really want to be confused.

Baseball Stadium

I was told I would have to pay $15 to attend the meeting in N Aug to voice my thoughts on the new stadium. I guess Cal Ripken is trying to get every list penny out of this area before he leaves.

Social Sec cuts would hurt women the most

How Much Benefits Could Shrink

The chained CPI would reduce the annual increase in Social Security checks by about 0.2 percent a year, compared with the current measurement, according to the Social Security Administration.

The National Women's Law Center, which opposes moving to the chained CPI because it will reduce future benefits, based on forecasts by Social Security economists. For example, a 65-year-old woman retiring after a lifetime of average earnings could see an 8 percent benefit cut by age 90, compared to what she would receive with the current inflation measure.

Why Women Could Be Most Affected

Switching to the chained CPI would be "especially painful for women," says a National Women's Law Center report, because they have longer life expectancies than men, rely more on income from Social Security and are "already more economically vulnerable." Women receive Social Security benefits three years and eight months longer than men, on average, according to the Social Security Administration.

Single black women would be especially affected, the group says, because they receive the smallest Social Security benefits, an average of $890 a month at 65. With the chained CPI, they might see their checks reduced by $45 a month at 80 and $70 a month by 90.

The Argyle Sweater

Is the funniest comic in the Chronicle. I guess the ranter wouldn't like the Far Side cartoon either. Some folks just have different senses of humour I guess.

Anger over probation escalates (Dekalb county schools)

WOW....
Big article in the AJC...many mad--irate parents about the probation of the school system in DeKalb county....what is so interesting is this section of atlanta has some very rich pockets of wealth...Candler Park--Dunwoody--Druid Hills --etc.....& now they are facing possible loss of accreditation ......some students are saying that the board has made it impossible to get the education they deserve....

Ok now.....just think about this...the majority voted in the board....did this majority consider the QUALIIFICATIONS of the members ...weeel what do you think......some couldn't run a storage unit much less a school system...... just because someone has PHD by their name doesn't mean they are worthy of a demanding-budget crunching job.....
I will venture to say..."some" finish college with a degree & couldn't find their way out of a paper bag......this will be interesting because I can see LAWYERS involved --LAWSUITS galore---some facing jail time even,.....stay tuned...

Come now, sweetie; no one is going to jail. The only ones going anywhere are the lawyers to the banks and the taxpayers to the cleaners. Again.

"Slept with over 900 in her JOB!"

Big deal. I have no great moral indignation about prostitutes. Compare them to politicians and they come out ahead in terms of both value received and patron satisfaction.

This is going to shock some of yall...

But here goes.....

If we had steady safe sexual outlets for young men at the ages of 16 through 26 or so we would have fewer NUTcases shooting up everything.........most of the shooters are lonely---awkward---bent up--anti social misfits.....with 0 hope of a steady girlfriend......even the animal world understands this ...I don't know why we are SOO stupid & uptight about even talking about it...............keep in mind ...most of these shooters are young WHITE males.....think about it!

Charging to Attend Stadium Meeting

I like the idea of charging the public to attend meetings of various kinds. I'd make them pay a poll tax, too, take a literacy test, provide photo ID, sing the words to America the Beautiful and tell us Chipper Jones' lifetime batting average.

Health Educator

Okay, SeenIt, I'm getting off to a late start, but you have set up the board excellently with many interesting topics.

I'll start with ranter #3. I, too, wondered about commissioner-elect Bill Fennoy's description of his background as a "health educator." You can take it to the bank that he was never certified to teach in a Georgia public school. How do I know that? Because certified teachers are proud of their profession and they call themselves teachers.

No, I suspect the only "health education" that Bill Fennoy provided was to teach people how to game the Medicaid system.

LL, he could have worked at

LL, he could have worked at the Health Department, MCG or another hospital. That's what I'm thinking. There are zillions of "health care educators" teaching patients and staff about everything from HIPPA to BLS to how to avoid going crazy and slapping each other said in about a dozen different ways.

Woman Who Slept With 900 Men

About the woman who says she slept with over 900 men, Wilt Chamberlain said in his book that he slept with 20,000 women in his life. The book was published when he was 55. Someone calculated it out and it came to 1.4 women a day. Some of his friends say he liked threesomes and was an insomniac. Heh.

Gotta throw the bs flag on Chamberlain's claim. Usually, it's the quiet ones who are scoring the most. Off the court that is.

What does night time golf under the lights have to do with sex?
