A man was killed when his car collided with a wrecker Monday in Burke County.

Dillon Bartlett, 18, of Hephzibah, was driving north on US 25, north of Waynesboro, when he tried to pass a wrecker, but hit it, flipping his Volkswagen Beetle, said Georgia Patrol Trooper 1st Class Derek Jackson.

Bartlett was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from his car, Jackson said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The wrecker was driven by Frank Burpee, 28, of Martinez, who was not injured.

While I pray for his family
