An Edgefield County, S.C., woman lost her job and has not been able to find work.

She and her family have moved from place to place, asking churches for food.

“Everything I’ve tried to do to help just hasn’t happened,” she writes. “We’ve really had a rough time, but God has blessed us, even through these difficult times, and things will get better!”

The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 82 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $104,000 that helped children and families across the region.
