Monique Sullivan, 35, was westbound in the eastbound lanes with her husband and 4 year-old son as passengers about 10:50 a.m. when she hit two vehicles, authorities said.

Amelia Hiltz, 32, was in the same lane as Sullivan and tried to veer right before being hit by Sullivan’s 2003 Chevrolet Suburban. The Suburban then hit a car driven by Kevin Mollenhauer, 25, who was in the other lane. Mollenhauer’s car slammed into Hiltz’s, causing most of the damage, said Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Randy Prickett.

Sullivan’s SUV flipped and hit another car driven by Augusta lawyer Maureen Floyd, 52.

Hiltz was in critical condition Monday night at Medical College of Georgia Hospital, a spokeswoman said. Floyd was upgraded from critical to serious. Sullivan and her husband, Demond, were listed in fair condition, and Mollenhauer was treated and released.

The Sullivans’ son suffered scratches, Prickett said.

Deputies initially thought the child had been ejected from the vehicle but now think he crawled from it after the crash, Capt. Scott Gay said.

Sullivan entered the wrong side of the road at St. Sebastian Way, according to witnesses, and was traveling at high speed for almost three miles, Prickett said. The reason was still unclear Monday night.

Doug Herman said he witnessed the crash and was still shaking several hours after he chased the Suburban in an attempt to warn the driver.

Herman said he was at an intersection near Broad Street and River Watch when he saw the Suburban barrel through a red light and narrowly miss another vehicle. Then the Suburban headed up the wrong ramp.

Herman said he tried to flag down the driver, who was speeding with the flashers on.

“(She) was going so fast,” Herman said.

Several vehicles avoided the Suburban before it rounded a curve on River Watch, Herman said.

“I was so upset after all of this that I knelt down and said a prayer,” he said.

Sullivan will face charges of driving on the wrong side of the road. Other charges are possible pending an investigation.

“We don’t know if there was some type of impairment or some other condition that led to (the wrong direction of travel),” Gay said.

Miracle

"A miracle is an event attributed to divine intervention. Alternatively, it may be an event attributed to a miracle worker, saint, or religious leader. A miracle is sometimes thought of as a perceptible interruption of the laws of nature. Others suggest that God may work with the laws of nature to perform what people see as miracles. Theologians say that, with divine providence, God regularly works through created nature yet is free to work without, above, or against it as well."

I just want to say one thing;
I do not want to hear or see printed that word from those that do not believe in the All Mighty God. They do not deserve to right to ever use it.

And the judging begins

New poster, old poster, it doesn't matter. Folks continue to feel that these forums are places of making judgment calls, inferences, character assassinations, and the like. None of them serve any purpose except to allow people to anonymously slam their neighbors when they would never speak such comments directly to someone's face. Please think about what you post before you do so-keep it to either an encouragement (i.e. "thoughts and prayers to those involved") or a neutral/less inflammatory remark ("it must have been so frightening to see the car coming at them" rather than saying "what was she doing? was she out of her mind?"). It's not hard, folks...

before you make such a comment, why not research the Word and then re-read your sentence and see if makes any sense.

There is someone here that already tells us what we can and can't say and I believe his name is Sean. He has the "power of the pen" if you will and you dont. :) Just sayin'. As far us stating that some of these comments dont serve a purpose, I greatly disagree. I find alot of these comments very enjoyable to read, some even make me "LOL". :)

Darn!

My first post one liner sure punched a hole in a hornet's nest.

Agree, I could have worded it different by adding "I'm waiting for more details before commenting but untill then Please God save all those involved in this tragic accident"

I probably have the most comment poo-canned than anyone on here except for one that is no longer here and has departed. The reason I have been removed so many times is that I despise living on this earth under what has been the biggest destruction of Freedom in America, Political Correctness"

Now whyme, "people to anonymously slam their neighbors when they would never speak such comments directly to someone's face." Let it be known that I would never post or say one thing that I wouldn't say directly to someone's face.

I'm not anonymous and I will tell anybody who I am.

Ran a red then turned onto the wrong side of the highway with husband and child in car..

When the facts are rinsed out of this shemozzle, we'll probably find a wonderful domestic dispute at the bottom of it. Either that or she was on meth.

Bat*#!! crazy.
