Young mother needs help getting presents for daughter

A young woman, now a full-time student at Augusta State University, hopes to get her nursing degree someday and create a better life for herself and her 20-month-old daughter.

“My daughter is such a sweet and happy baby,” she writes. “She is beginning to realize who Santa is and she tries to say his name. Her eyes light up when we watch Christmas videos. I would love nothing more than to see her overjoyed Christmas morning when she discovers gifts under our tree.”

The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 82 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $104,000 for children and families across the region.
