ALL THE COVERAGE FOR the people being in line for Black Friday and then I find out they are selling their services to make purchases for others. Just check Craigslist for their posts.

It is all about making money.

I AM A GRADUATE of Augusta State University. We still need a better name than Georgia Regents University. Even when Augusta is tacked on at the end, the name makes the school sound second-rate or like an online college. It’s a good school and deserves a better name.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK the staff at Morningside Assisted Living for being such caring people. The activities director, Kelley, recently arranged for an Elvis impersonator to entertain the residents. It was so heartwarming to see our seniors having such a good time and many of them singing along.

THANKS TO University Hospital for putting on the Diabetes Expo at Warren Baptist Church. We were able to gain the latest info related to diabetes from the many excellent classes that were offered.

HOORAY! SOMETHING good is happening in Augusta, which is going to benefit all of us. The additional adaptive traffic lights which are planned that adjust their timing based on traffic flow will result in less frustration and over time will result in less gas consumption. Kudos to those who are pushing to make this happen.

HOW SAD THAT the Letter to the Editor condones guest columnist Edward Maner’s position that criticism of the president is racially motivated. I, and many others criticize Obama on many things because he deserves it – not because he is black. It’s time to stop spreading the disease of racism.

RAVES FOR THE honest person who turned in my MasterCard to the Evans Kroger’s gas attendant. Honesty is its own reward, but I thank you for exercising good character. Happy Thanksgiving.

THE LETTER TO THE
editor on Nov. 20 was absolutely correct.
The criticism of President Obama is racially motivated. All of the claims against the Obamas are not true. We should show more respect for our president than this.

LOOKS LIKE BILL KIRBY is going to give all the bad people in Augusta a new idea with his joke for the day.

voter ID....

"Gettting" a free turkey is not necessarily a right...

But of course, "voting" for a turkey (in the opinion of some on the right) is a constitutional right...

Expect for a large amount of retail and road expansion in 2013

#5... There's plenty of good things happening in Augusta. $115 million Rockwood, $172 million Starbucks, Augusta Regional 200 acre Industrial Park/$7 million General Perry Smith Pkwy, Home2Suites by Hilton in the Augusta Exchange, $76 million Medical Commons, Augusta Regional parking expansion, Medac expansion(70 jobs) in the Exchange, $30 million I-520 expansion, Sprint Food & Metro Market on Broad street next to the common, $1 million Augusta Canal expansion, Butler Creek park, etc.

I have some very good news to share with the public. Augusta Regional set another passenger record this year(third in a row). The goal is to attract direct flights to NYC, a city in Florida, and Dallas.

Bill Fennoy Victory

Finally, the cabal wasting Augusta's money will be stopped. Let's hope Fennoy is up to the task. Lori Davis thinks he is and that's good enough for me. By the way, it's been a long time since the Chronicle picked a winner.

I'm doing my part......

Cheers! As the economy begins to rise from the depths of the deepest U.S. recession since World War II, more Americans are having a beer after work, or wine when they go out to dinner, according to a new study released Thursday.

The sale of beer, wine and spirits in restaurants, bars and other licensed locations increased 4.9 percent in 2011, according to a new a study by restaurant research firm Technomic, published Nov. 29. The increase led to a total of $93.7 billion in sales last year, and Technomic contends that those numbers will only rise more in 2012 and 2013.

I can't do it all my myself....let's keep the economy going...

MSNBC says, "Old White Guys" Often

We get into this thing of calling everyone who criticizes President Obama a racist, yet, I hear Chris Matthews and others saying Republicans are old white guys. It was said it was only old white guys picking on Susan Rice when any objective reporter knows the truth about Benghazi. Double standard?

The Augusta Chronicle Endorsements

The Augusta Chronicle has been having much better success in endorsing onerous, burdensome tax hike bills than in endorsing
political candidates.

SeenIt, so we are drinking

SeenIt, so we are drinking more because the economy is getting better? Heck, I drank on the way down, so I guess I can drink on the way back up. Not hard to come up with a reason. When I was in the Army in the middle of nowhere we drank because one of the guy's sister had a birthday.

Finally, Got Austin On an Election

He was dead wrong picking Aitken. Landslide for Fennoy. So that district is sewed up for a long time with that kind of vote. I wonder which one falls next? What black person will run for mayor? Mason?

Sure the criticism of Obama

Unpublished

Sure the criticism of Obama is racially motivated, I mean no one would criticize a president for a 20 trillion dollar debt, high unemployment, 3 dollar and higher gas, no clear energy policy, no clear immigration policy, ammbassadors getting killed.... Oops then again................

How Do Some Do it?

A while back, I’m wearing a T-shirt, shorts and no socks, driving my pick-up with the rod and reel in back on a Friday evening. I drive into Harvard’s Liquor Store lot off Old Evans Rd. and I see this guy who’s well known in the area wearing a coat and tie. (This is NOT the radio guy.) I say hey to him and we get into a mini conversation about an upcoming election.

He supports a certain candidate and I tell him my misgivings because of the candidate’s connections. He makes light of my concerns and goes on a diatribe about how bad one opponent is. We agree to disagree. I go in and buy a quart. I see that at the other register he buys a half-pint which makes me wonder if he is a secret drinker?

Fast forward, the elections are over, and the guy he told me was so bad wins. Then I’m online, listening to the radio show when he calls in telling everyone how great the now elected candidate is. This is the same candidate he was badmouthing to me awhile back. How do some people do it?
