LEXINGTON, S.C. — Lexington County officials have released the name of a transportation department worker killed when he was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 20.
Coroner Harry Harmon says 21-year-old Nicholas Johnson died when he was hit by a vehicle in the emergency lane Monday afternoon.
Harmon says Johnson died at the scene from head and body injuries.
Transportation Department spokesman Pete Poore says a crew was cleaning debris when Johnson was struck.
