CONWAY, S.C. — Officials in Horry County are holding a vigil to remember a baby whose body was found in a tote bag by a road.

A memorial service for the infant, who has become known as Baby Boy Horry, is planned today at the boy’s gravesite in Conway’s Hillcrest Cemetery.

The baby was found dead Dec. 4, 2008, inside a blue-and-white bag in a ditch off state Highway 544. The Bath and Body Works tote was sold exclusively during an August 2008 promotion.

Authorities say the infant was viable and would have survived with proper care.

Authorities have said they have a DNA profile for the baby to match him to his parents, if they are ever found. Police say there were no visible injuries on the infant.

Its a needle in a haystack

With so many options, that I disagree with, why did this have to happen?

Was he accidentally left on the roof and parent scared to go back, or a deliberate dump and run?

Why not adopt him out?

Either way B,B,& B only sold so many, only so many were that color, there are only so many 7-9 month pregnant women and only so many were sold in the general immediate area. Since, every business is required to keep records for recalls, or Credit Card Transactions, use the computers data and knock on some doors.

Add in some discriminating factors, such as approx age of the baby, Race(s), eyes, hair type and color, that Conway SC is a Seasonal Vacation town and this was off season and you narrow it down to "likely" a local. Now you have a much better public profile.

Logical Problem Solving

Not a government forte. Government don't do Dr. Deming's Total Quality Analysis. The skill set is not available to their workforce. Hence the two nationalized businesses, USPS and RR, are financial failures.
