LILBURN, Ga. — Authorities are investigating a house fire that claimed a person’s life outside Atlanta.

Gwinnett County fire officials say the person -- believed to be an adult male -- was found dead early Monday morning inside the small, single-story home in Lilburn.

Firefighters said they weren’t able to enter the home when they arrived at 12:03 a.m. because of intense fire and a partial collapse of the roof.

Authorities say the person who died was reportedly staying in the home overnight while renovation work was being done. The person’s name wasn’t released early Monday morning.
