Empty Stocking Fund to help 'emotionally and financially spent' family from Augusta

An Augusta family facing a year of health and financial setbacks would like to make Christmas brighter for its children.

The husband was injured in a fall at work, and taking care of him and a disabled child prevents the mother from working.

“We are emotionally and financially spent,” the mother writes. “But through it all, the precious kids have been amazing. They have been our sunshine on darkest days. They deserve a wonderful Christmas.”

The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 82 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $104,000 that helped children and families across the region.
