RAVES TO THE Chronicle! Your editorial recommendations made the losers the winners!

MY STOVE IS BROKE and I don’t have any heat and everybody in the world is calling wanting something for something. Now, who do I call?

MR. PRESIDENT, I know that there is no advantage to you now that the election is over, but it would mean a lot to those who are still hurting real bad in the region hit by Sandy if you could visit again to console them. Oh, I forgot that you have to run off now to some foreign country which needs you more!

REPUBLICANS AND Democrats have cooperated over decades, cooperated in destroying our freedom, stealing our money, throwing us to the wolves. Both parties are controlled by bums who will do anything as long as they can find a personal payoff of either money or ego.

NOW THAT OBAMA has been re-elected, either Iran will have a nuclear bomb or Israel will have to destroy it themselves.

ACTUALLY, I THINK more people voted to save Big Bird than they did to keep the current regime in office.

WHAT CAN I DO? My smartphone is smarter than I am?

YEARLY CITY TAXES: $275. Yearly county taxes: $450. Monthly water, trash & sewage: $85. Living in a city/county that actually works: Priceless. Thanks, North Augusta/Aiken.

RANT TO THE CURRENT panel of the Columbia County Board of Equalization. They are totally incompetent or were handpicked to assist the assessor’s office in artificially inflating some property values as much as 10 to 15 percent even though property values have decreased the past three years.

I LIVE IN SOUTH Augusta. We have Section 8 houses in the neighborhood where I live, which is McDuffie Woods. There is trash in the street, windows broken, the neighborhood is going down. We do not need Cherry Tree Crossing in south Augusta.

IS THERE A LAW in Columbia County that they can’t have any Democrats running? We only have Republicans. Does this seem right?

THREE CHEERS for Deputy Kenneth Mercer. I am so glad he is out there protecting me.

I Just Have Too

Just sent to me from one of my online Lovers who knows I poped out of the hole in Plattsburgh, New York.

Yes, there is a huge state beyond New York City and it is called Upstate New York.
It has some beautiful large cities and is also full of MANY, MANY small towns and abundant farm land which we call Rural New York.

Here is someone's take on "Rural New York" and it's quite accurate.

THE RULES OF RURAL NEW YORK ARE AS FOLLOWS: Listen up City Slickers!

1. Pull your droopy pants up. You look like an idiot.

2. Turn your cap around straight... Your head isn't crooked.

3. Let's get this straight; it's called a 'dirt road' No matter how slow you drive, you're going to get dust on your Lexus. Drive it or get out of the way. I drive a pickup truck because I want to.

4. They are cattle. They're live steaks. That's why they smell funny to you. But they smell like money to us. Get over it. Don't like it? I-90 and I-81 go west and south... Use em.

5. So you have a $60,000 car... We're impressed. We have $250,000 combines... To harvest corn and soybeans that are driven only 3 weeks a year.

6. So every person in rural New York waves. It's called being friendly. Try to understand the concept.

7. If that cell phone rings while an 8-point buck and 3 does are coming in, we WILL shoot it out of your hand. You better hope you don't have it up to your ear at the time.

8. Yeah, we eat meat, taters and gravy, beans and biscuits, and homemade pie. You really want sushi and caviar? It's available down at Jim's bait shop.

9. The 'Opener' refers to the first day of deer season. It's a religious holiday held the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

10. We open doors for women. That is applied to all women, regardless of age.

11. No, there's no 'vegetarian special' on the menu. Order steak or chicken. Or, you can order the Chef's Salad and pick off the 2 pounds of ham and turkey.

12. When we fill out a table, there are three main dishes: meats, vegetables, and breads. We use three spices...Salt, pepper, and ketchup. Oh, yeah... We don't care what you folks in Chicago call that stuff you eat... IT AIN'T REAL CHILI !!

13. You bring 'coke' into my house... It better be brown, wet and served over ice.

14. You bring 'Mary Jane' into my house, she better be cute, know how to shoot, drive a truck, and have long blonde hair.

15. The Syracuse Orangemen and high school football are as important here as the Giants and the Jets and more fun to watch.

16. Yeah, we have golf courses. But don't hit the water hazards... It spooks the fish.

17. Colleges? We have them all over. We have Cornell University, Ithaca College, Syracuse U., Colgate, the SUNY system, Community Colleges, and Voc-techs. They come outta there with an education plus a love for God and Country, and they still wave to everybody when they come home for the holidays.

18. Turn down that blasted car stereo! That thumpity-thump junk ain't music anyway. We don't want to hear it any more than we want to see your boxers. (Refer back to #1.)

19. Four inches of snow isn't a blizzard... it's a flurry. Drive in it like you got some sense, and DON'T take all our bread, milk, and eggs off the grocery shelves. This ain't Alaska! Worst case... You may have to live a whole day without croissants. Anyway.... The pickups with snowplows will have you out the next day.

20. If you've never been here, come visit our friendly folks and enjoy our spectacular scenery... Lakes, farmland, great fishing and hunting, wineries, museums, lots of history. Take a boat ride on the Erie Canal. Check out
Niagara Falls and the Adirondacks and Catskill Mountains.

21. By the way, if you want to talk to God in New York... it's a local call.

HAVE A GREAT DAY! FROM RURAL NEW YORK WITH LOVE...

Political Parties are what they are

because people support their cause.

Every time new party surfaces that better represents the people, both sides go wild with anti-counter claims. Their Media outlets jump in to help an demonize the new party and/or its members.

When enough people buy into their false claims, then both parties quietly co-opt parts of the New Party's agenda, to bleed off any challenge to their power.

Look no further than the recent TEA PARTY and the 1000's of deliberate misrepresentations made against a political group formed only to fight $$12+ $$Trillion Dollars in deficient spending, pushing for a Balanced Budget and capping the constantly increasing Taxes.

RANT$

MY STOVE IS BROKE WHO DO I CALL?
GE Services, American Appliance, Davis Appliances, Howard's Appliance Center or Golden. Then pay the man like the rest of us.

MR. PRESIDENT - More Sandy Visits
Sorry he is out of town right now.

NOW THAT OBAMA has been re-elected
Hamas waited until after Obama was re-elected to strike.
Where do you think he stands?
He is out of town this week.

... I THINK more people voted to save Big Bird...
Ask Not what you can do for Big Bird, the Billionaire.
But what Big Bird, the Billionaire could do for you.

MY SMARTPHONE IS SMARTER...
Get a Samsung Gusto. KISS at its best.

North Augusta YEARLY CITY TAXES vs. Augusta / Richmond Co.
Smart Move... Pun intended. I expect Augusta to be a Ghost Town in 20 years, if they don't get their spending and taxing act right.

Columbia County Board of Equalization Playing with Tax Numbers...
Welcome to the real world, now engage you elected reps to change it. Fat chance tho, they already spent the $$$ for years to come.

SOUTH AUGUSTA HOME OF SECTION 8 HOUSING
Again welcome to the real world, now engage your elected reps to change how the sections 8 placements are handle, brief and placed in community living environments vs. their previous locations. If that fails, which it has repeatedly, call Augusta Code enforcement with cc: to your Dist Commissioner until the trashy problem is fixed. BTW: How do can anyone expect Section 8's to maintain lawns without a lawn mower or knowledge of community living expectations, to fit in? Dumping people in to communities without explaining the social changes needed, is cruel to both parties.

IS THERE A LAW in Columbia County
Must be the reverse in Richmond County...
Why did you pick Columbia Co. If you wanted Richmond Co.?
Do you want to trade locations and the economics, social, cultural and other issues that go with Rep vs. Dem counties?

Deputy Kenneth Mercer can take pride
in what he accomplished in the course of his duties.
This is the type of example that kids need to become familiar with.

I knew it, just knew it! It is possible to have good common sense and vote Liberal Democrat reliably.

It must be those long cold winters that shut down polluting media and actually force folks to think for themselves.

Case in point. Look what happened to poor ol' CG when he left. :)

All right gang. Let's get a big push going today. CG should hit his 40 grand today with a little help from us.

You can spend about 1/2 an hour going to the archives and throwing him some uppers/downers to add to the totals.

Too bad there isn't a reliable way to see who gets credit for the thumb that puts him over the top.

No wonder Hostess went

No wonder Hostess went bankrupt. They tripled the pay of their CEO. It was not caused by the union.the company was preparing to file for bankruptcy earlier this year, the then CEO of Hostess was awarded a 300 percent raise (from approximately $750,000 to $2,550,000) and at least nine other top executives of the company received massive pay raises. One such executive received a pay increase from $500,000 to $900,000 and another received one taking his salary from $375,000 to $656,256.

Happy, not to forget that

Happy, not to forget that Hostess had lost market share because they had refused to modernize and bring to market new products that a more health conscience public wanted.

Not to fear though. Work is underway to sell off the name and begin marketing again. While the demand is and probably will stay down, there is still enough of a market there for someone to exploit.

I hardly think the salaries of 9 or 10 people was the leading cause for Hostess's problems.

KSL so why raise a salary

KSL so why raise a salary that much? That is not helping any business by raising salaries that much, and then those same companies don't want to pay the workers that do most of the work.

The Pay...

....of Hostess Executives is a matter for Hostess owners to determine. So should be the pay (and benefits) of Hostess employees at all other levels.

Labor Unions have inserted themselves into the process and driven up employee wages beyond the point of profitability, a situation which management tried to solve and got the support of many of the employees who wanted to keep their jobs. Some chose not to work toward a solution, ignored a final warning, and will now suffer the consequences along with those who worked toward a solution.

Not to worry....Hostess will rise again. Someone will buy it and continue making Twinkies and Ding-Dongs. But, they most likely won't sign up to Union demands and employees will almost certainly end up with a worse deal than what they selfishly turned down.

Or, the government may "bail them out," force the taxpayers to meet union demands, and foot the bill for pay and benefits packages beyond what the market would allow. In fact, I've heard the White House is campaigning for just that result.

Another nail in America's coffin, if it happens.
