Rants & Raves

Comments from readers:

THE ELECTION IS OVER. Woe unto America. We will get what we deserve. Coming soon: economic collapse, abandonment of the military, turning our back on Israel, and a full federally operated medical system. The end of Western civilization is right behind that, then Sharia law throughout the world. I understand Sears is having a sale on sackcloth and ashes.

ALL HOPE IS LOST. This election proves that America has taken leave of its senses. Expect continued degradation of freedom and economic catastrophe in America.

AM I A SORE LOSER? You bet I am, and especially when someone wins who is totally undeserving of a victory.

RANT TO ROMNEY. I’m a white 38-year-old union mechanic, and I voted for Obama because I’m one of those who care about Medicare.

RICHMOND COUNTY, YOU have opened up a can of worms by having a sheriff who is no good with leadership ability, no one will follow, people will leave the police force and we won’t get as good service. Second chances are not a policeman’s job. Their job is to enforce the law and arrest. The courts give the second chances.

RAVE FOR ALL the men and women who participated in the Bike-a-thon at Lake Springs and the Bartram Trail. I am a hiker up there, and they are always so nice, friendly and courteous on those trails. Let’s give praise for those men and women who do this on a regular basis.

RANTS FOR THE BIKERS on the Greeneway in North Augusta. They are very rude and have no regard for walkers and children on that walkway. Please do something about these rude bikers.

I WANT TO THANK the people of Columbia County for giving us that Anderson fellow. That was pitiful. Now look what we have to put up with – Barrow for another two years. I’m sorry that folks of Columbia County didn’t do better for us.

WHY WOULD PEOPLE want Marion Williams back on the Richmond County Commission? What a terrible waste.

CONGRATULATIONS, Democrats, for voting another four years of socialism and welfare society. If you think Obamacare is great, you are in for a big shock. I know what happened to England when the so-called free care took effect. I lived there. Fewer and fewer doctors.

Moving on up!

The $21 million Wrightsboro rd(widening between I-520/Jimmie Dyess), and the $2 million I-520/Wrightsboro rd interchange projects break ground around December 2012/January 2013.... Parts of Augusta West Parkway and Barton Chapel will be affected due to the construction.

The $25 million Mike Padgett/Hwy 56, $2 million improvements to Riverwatch Pkwy/I-20, and $25 million phase 1 of Windsor Spring rd(Tobacco to Wiillis Foreman) are right behind...

The next round would include the $17 million phase 2 of widening Windsor Spring(South Augusta to city limits of Hephzibah), $1 millon improvements to Deans Bridge/Gordon Hwy intersection, $8 million Marks Church rd(Wrightsboro rd Wheeler), $8 million repairs to Calhoun Expressway, over $20 million Riverwatch pkwy improvements, and $14 million on Gordon Hwy(Peach Orchard to Walton Way)...

What's so wrong with Riverwatch that it needs $20mil improvements? Not complaining, just wondering. Windsor Springs has been under construction for like 35-40 years LOL.
Anyway, why a rant to Romney? What did he do to medicare? Did I miss something? I say give everyone their money back that they put into medicare and social security and leave the rest to fend for themselves.

To the Bike Rant on the Greenway, do one of two things or both.
Unpublished

Petition the City to put up sign stating Bikers Ride on a certain side and Walkers Walk the oppisite side and if that does not work a well placed foot to the frame of the bike of the offender will put them on the ground and you just keep walking. It may cause a scuffle or two but sometimes you have to fight for your rights which seems to be what this country is placing to the wayside. When you are afraid to fight for what is yours then you have allowed your freedoms to be taken, it is just time to sit and sulk with your mouth shut.

YOU will see that we are "obligated" to give away billions of dollars to outside interests.............Puerto Rico, alone is getting over $7B; and NONE of this money is expected to be paid back to the US Treasury.

Well now.....that doesn't make me feel warm/fuzzy

Recent FBI data shows that Atlanta is in fact the 8th most dangerous city in America. You only have a more likely chance of being shot or harmed if you live in Flint, Detroit, St. Louis, Oakland, Memphis, Little Rock or Birmingham. Find more about it on Cascade Patch.

Dang it!!! One typing error cost Romney the election. It was supposed to be "Poppy head"! We all know this would've garnered Romney at least an extra 40% of the head vote, thus putting him over and winning the election. Oh well, I guess his investments in Holland won't pan out.
