A 28-year-old Clarks Hill, S.C., man died this morning after his vehicle left the roadway.

According to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, Jesse James Ryan was traveling on Highway 302 in a 2003 Toyota Tundra about 3 a.m. when the truck left the right side of the road. The driver overcorrected and crossed the highway.

The vehicle overturned, ejecting the passenger, 28-year-old Aaron Baugh III, of Modoc, S.C.

Ryan was pronounced dead at the scene. Baugh was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital, where he was in serious condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Toxicology is pending on the driver.
