Former sheriff Charlie Webster's funeral set for Tuesday

Visitation and a graveside service have been announced for former Richmond County Sheriff Charles B. Webster, who died Saturday.

According to his obituary, a graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m., in Westover Memorial Park. The Rev. Jerry Wilson will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Sheriff Ronnie Strength, Freddie Sanders, Duncan Fordham, Lee Ready, Gene Johnson, Jimmy Drew, Kenny Miles, Homer Moxley, Jr., Honorary pallbearers will be John Hardin, Judge William Fleming, Judge Danny Craig, Joel Avery, Felix Patrick, Jimmy Norris, Whitey Lester, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Georgia Sheriff’s Association.

The family will also receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomas Poteet & Son, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta.
