Jimmie Dyess Parkway is open to traffic following a gas leak this morning that closed to traffic south of Interstate 20 while a gas leak is repaired.

Both of the southbound lanes and one of the northbound lanes of Jimmie Dyess Parkway are now open to traffic, officials said after noon.

Traffic was earlier being detoured to Park West Drive and Frontage Road.

The leak started when a contractor laying telephone line hit a high pressure gas line just before 10 a.m.
