AUGUSTA - Augusta Police are warning residents

about gunfire, but it not a movie or reality show. No arrest will be made, but loving concern for the shooters is welcomed.

Hollywood? Don't Think So!

Sorry seenit, Atlanta will never be a "Hollywood"! Have you NOT noticed all that has happened to that once beautiful city, a place to be lived in and visited, is now a refuge for illegals and criminals of every sort. Music "Moguls" and Sports figures cannot continue to help this city.................Atlanta--Hollywood? I don't think so! Just Who is producing the movie Ride Along?

GA's Film & TV Industry

You would be surprised at the amount of film and tv production going on in Atlanta and other parts of Georgia. The Walking Dead, Vampire Diaries, Tyler Perry Studios, X-Men First Class, The Blind Side, Fast Five, etc.

According to Ga.Org, this state is one of the top five film production destinations in the country. Also, the East Atlanta Patch wrote an article declaring "in fiscal year 2012, more than 333 feature films, television movies and series, commercials and music videos were shot in Georgia."

So why the hate toward film production in Atlanta? Just because these film production companies bypass sleepy little Augusta, it doesn't mean that other progressive cities aren't generating millions of dollars for their local economy from being involved in the entertainment industry.

Maybe if Augusta actually organized a film commission and marketed this city to Hollywood, we could have a source of serious income and not be dependent upon non-existent tourism dollars from ALL of those conventions we are booking. Support industries such as modeling/talent agencies, production equipment rental, location services, craft services, etc. would spring up and bring even more revenue.

But Augusta would rather toss taxpayer money into some other lame project that will result in shuttered windows and locked gates. That's how Augustans do it.
