All household members must be 65 or older to qualify for the Energy Assistance Program of the CSRA Economic Opportunity Authority. Limited money is available, and applications will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
Homebound residents can send an authorized representative to apply on their behalf.
To qualify, a resident must be responsible for paying the cost of energy for the primary heating source; a U.S. citizen or legal immigrant; and have income at or below 160 percent of the poverty level for Georgia, which is $20,990 for one person and $27,449 for two people.
Only 100 applications will be accepted daily from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the following locations:
• May Park, 622 Fourth St.
• Henry Brigham Community Center, 2463 Golden Camp Road
• Bernie Ward Community Center, 1941 Lumpkin Road
To apply, bring photo identification, a Social Security card for all household members, proof of income in the past 30 days and the most recent heating bill.
