ARE THERE ANY “Save the A” postcards around? I know of the bumper stickers and yard signs.

I HAD A VISIT WITH Ronnie Strength about a situation. You talk about professional, helpful and concerned for the residents of Richmond County ... these traits are also a part of Freddie Sanders’ vision ... qualifications speak for themselves ... there is no comparison with Richard Roundtree. Please take the time to vote ... and vote for Sanders.

EDWARD MANER IN his guest column, “Obama is an unfair victim of hatred,” had to bring the race card out when defending Obama. We should be able to disagree with Obama and his record without having the race card being used. Stop instilling hatred to hide what is going on in the country.

ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS should be deported. Anyone who knowingly hires them should be arrested. What part of “illegal” don’t our politicians understand?

YOU TELL US THAT taxpayers are going to be out $887,203 this year in the support of the Augusta Convention Center. Why did we not hear the potential of losses like these before the center was built? Why do we always have to pay for the dreams of others?

RAVE TO The Augusta Chronicle for posting the opinions of Mr. Maner, Mr. Waters and all these people. I especially like the cartoon about the undecided voters.

SO-CALLED environmentalists claim to love natural things. Then they try to stop redwing blackbirds from doing what comes naturally. What natural methods do environmentalists use? Why, flattening vegetation, along with such tools as whistles and noisemakers. Natural? Yeah, sure.

HARVARD LAW SCHOOL grad John Barrow falls into a phony Southern dialect claiming, “Ain’t nobody gonna take ’em (his guns).” You’d think that at Harvard, he would at least have learned not to say “ain’t gonna.”

ED ENOCH SUPPORTED Hardie Davis – which means he’s a Democrat. Why otherwise smart people have his signs in their yards is beyond me.

GOD BLESS MITT Romney. He is a real statesman.

FORGET AL-QAIDA. You’d better watch out for the post office! Five cents more for a stamp? What are they doing with all the money they get now?

To Much Thinking/Manipulation

First of all the Tee Center will probably end up like the JB Arena, the Semi Pro football, Hockey and any other thing the powers that be in this area put their hands on ( look at the history)! They cannot even situate FIRST FRIDAY, thinking it is suppose to be this flawless event with zero trouble. They lost a whole "MALL". Honestly mostly because it was labeled "WRONG SIDE OF TOWN" check it out and see. See who was invested in either mall.
I really do not think they consider the brand of people that live in this area. We are a city laughingly behind the times. I remember when this was a prime stop for high profile entertainment and due to the ones running the city they do not even consider a stop on their tours. GREED WANTING IT ALL FOR THEM AND THEIR FRIENDS (we had a mayor which went to jail for those alledged same practices because he would not play along). Outside management/developement is a NO NO here, Why?
Look at the projects that were demolished to make room for whatever. Did they ever consider where those tenants would go and the impact on the residents they moved next door to? As a 50 year old black man I am quite ticked about it, especially when my 1080 calls are laughed at if and when they show up, because they released these non home training folks onto my neighborhood, POINT BLANK yes I said it!
For the issue of the dollar; the only reason that would happen would be because we let and want it to happen. GAS prices DO NOT rise because of the President or a shortage, they rise because "THEIR" quota falls below a certain margin just like the stock market. It has nothing to do with congressman Jack or Senator Bob it is indeed the "GREED of INDIVIDUALS" PERIOD! If i was in a position to gain from these type things I would make use of them too. How do you think they got that way or in that position?
Vote Romney? Really? So I want to vote for a guy that wants to cut programs I might need to assist me if say for instance my greedy boss runs out on my comapny with the money and I have lost my job of 30 years with nothing to show for it? Wake up people, taking from these programs to fund unilateral BS is the way we got this way in the first place. How the heck are you going to cut something I pay into? If you are such a servant of the people then hand over your check(s) or business to me, you do not need a check or perks to be a "SERVANT"! So if Romney had of taken over after Bush what exactly do you think he would have or could have done to fix the mess we are in? More banks closed maybe? More businesses closed? You cannot create jobs out of thin air people. Multi Billion dollar organizations went belly up, because they got caught and knew what was coming. Now the only thing the hopeful new guy wants to do is Strengthen the military and cut programs ? WOW! Ok have fun with that. For you smart people the only way the dollar dies is if we are invaded by a country that can kill it and I mean military wise and I DO NOT see that happening! There is a reason we have bases in just about every country in the world, which is not a cheap deal. No matter whom you vote for the same will still happen and has since our country has had history!
All of this was real talk not some ranting about Liberals, Dems, Repubs,Blacks, Whites, Blues or any other organization trying to run this country it is about AMERICAN PEOPLE!

Mitt Romney great statesman.

Really?
I've never noticed. Maybe my definition of statesman is different than the writers.

The city of Columbia isn't

The city of Columbia isn't that far ahead in terms of downtown revitalization. I don't mind if people choose not to shop here, because we keep moving forward regardless... Costco, Apple, PF Changs, Sephora, etc only have locations in metro Atlanta and Augusta in the entire state. Columbia is just now getting Whole Foods, and Trader Joes(allows follows behind). They still don't have either Costco, Apple, etc.

I also don't think people realize the MSA GDP of Augusta for example is larger than the CSA of Savannah.

Money pouring in? Starbucks plant, Walmart on Wrightsboro rd, Rockwood plant, Home2Suites by Hilton, Walmart neighborhood market, Georgia power new facility, developer purchasing the former Regal Village theater in the Augusta West Plaza, Five Guys in South Augusta, Residence Inn by Marriott, Savannah River Banking subdivision next to Home2Suites, two 4k sq. ft. buildings in front of Kroger on Washington rd, etc...

What does the 'DDA' aka Downtown Development Authority have to do with construction projects in South and West Augusta? The Georgia Cities Foundation is behind promoting growth downtown, and not in the suburban areas.

Sincere apologees for late (early) response. Today, I drove 1000 (actually 993) miles. Saddle sore. You want tater salad, go get Ron White. You wanna eat my Tater Salad (and it is technically "Baked Potato Salad" and is to die for), you gotta show. I still ain't buying the regrets. Rumor has it SM will be here. Ok not a rumor. If I can drive 1000 miles in a day, dang sure you can drive 200. I promise......let me think what I can promise.......Country Videos playing on the Plasma and blasting outta the Sony surround. If that ain't enough, I will break out my vintage Willie Nelson albums (Hello Walls) or Patsy Cline I'm Sorry. Shoot a semi auto SKS in the range. Meet Dawg. Ride in a dually. Bushhog on a Ford 4000. See your Daddy's house? Tell me what it will take?

Oh and why April

I don't know. But when the LA cops were accquited of the Rodney King beating, do you think the Orientals and others in that city expected their businesses to be burned? Do you think Reginald Denny expected his head to be caved in by a concrete block?

Naw I don't think so either. Nor do I think that if Presbo loses the same may happen. You know what, if he wins the same may happen. But guess what....I will be prepared if it does. And Cobbie will be next to me. Are we crazy? Maybe. But if we are right.....
Anybody remember Ruby Ridge?

I mean, who ever thought one of our embassies would be attacked on an innocuous day like Sept 11th and the White House do nothing?
