Rants & Raves

Comments from readers:

YOUR ARTICLE ABOUT the River Glen apartments speaks volumes about not just what is happening in the Augusta area, but in the USA at large. Places like this should simply be razed and never built again. Quit providing shack-up houses at taxpayer expense for baby breeders/fifth-generation moochers who contribute absolutely nothing to society.

JOHN BARROW PRETENDING TO be an independent is almost as funny as Obama pretending to be for the middle class!

AS ELECTION TIME rolls around I would like to say rants to the morning show hosts who say such bad things about President Obama. I hope people won’t tune in. I don’t know the name, but I don’t like them. They disrespect the president just because he’s black.

ALL RICHARD ROUNDTREE TALKS about is love and coming together. I would like to know where I can see his qualifications to lead one of the largest sheriff’s departments in the state of Georgia. I have read all his statements, but nothing about what makes him qualified. I know Sanders’ qualifications.

I CAN’T BELIEVE SOME banks have the audacity to charge you $7.50 to cash a check. Where is America going to?

A BIG THANK-YOU TO Chris Toole of North Augusta Public Safety. Thank you for your kindness to me at the barber shop last week and thank you for your service to the community.

THE PROBLEM WITH Romney in the polls is that he actually thinks Americans want to work. He thinks work establishes pride and self-reliance. Obama’s ahead with empty promises and handouts. If you think his socialism is the way, look at Europe.

IT IS A SHAME THAT the city of Augusta could host a worldwide event such as the Ironman and fail to clean up the Savannah River and the Riverwalk area in which the competitors had to swim and our visitors strolled along to witness trash along the banks and in the river. I was embarrassed that we didn’t spruce things up for our visitors!

NO, NOT AGAIN! I see that Marion Williams is running for commissioner again. Remember the havoc he created the last time he was a commissioner? He does not deserve another chance so this time, vote for an alternative!

Oh heck BigClaude. You caught me being, what's that word the ACES likes? Oh, yeah "Snarky"

You are absolutley right when you say "Racism is not eradicated in Southern America"

I mean Arkansas still is part of the SEC aren't they? So I guess this would qualify and leads to the question When are the Republicans as a party(not individuals)going to clean house on this type of person. It's really embarrassing ya know.

RA

I will take you word for the authenticity of the speaker, etc. on this tape. That person has no business in any position of public service in America. As an individual, he certainly has the right to think what he wants, provided he doesn't exercise those thoughts in an illegal manner.

Have his words been made public and the GOP aware? This is the first I've heard of him, and am quite confident neither party would tolerate such blatant extremism, racist or otherwise.

Edit. I take part of that back, apparently that fool who thinks the earth is only 9000 years old is OK....

Malkin

You've got to love political columnist Michelle Malkin, and I appreciate The Augusta Chronicle for carrying her column. In today's print edition, she is talking about terrorism and how some of Attorney General Holder’s staff attorneys are closely linked to terrorists.

She talked about al Qaeda's murder of the American embassy personnel at Benghazi, then about al Quaeda's murder of the Yemeni security official who worked at the American embassy at Sanaa. Then she said:

These are not “bumps in the road.” These are gravesites on the blood-spattered path to surrender.

Tell it all, Sistah!

rebellious 11:33pm comment on 10/15

rebellious 11:33pm comment on 10/15 reminded me: I sure would like a list of what murder case files were languishing in Richard Rountree's apartment, WHY and for how long? I can not think of one good reason why those files would have been there in the first place, nevermind left behind when he moved! The fact these cases grew colder and colder while the case files were inaccessible to the rest of the investigative team makes me furious! I am thankful they are being looked at with fresh eyes now, but to think Rountree might be anywhere near these files or any other police cases again makes me sick to my stomach.

I guess Roundtree figured

I guess Roundtree figured that as long as he kept the unsolved case files at home that nobody would notice that he had not solved them. Too bad he didn't keep his women at home too.

It's Six O’Clock

Time to take Rants & Raves off the "most discussed" list even though people are still posting. Do you remember the old days when you would have two or more Rants & Raves on the most discussed list at the same time?

Lame

Yes, LL, I remember those days. The new structure is a little lame in some spots.
