Two women and a child were taken to the hospital Saturday after an accident on Deans Bridge Road.

According to Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Robbie Silas, a PT Cruiser driven by Shelia Avery was traveling south in the 4900 block of Deans Bridge Road about 3:45 p.m. Avery slowed to pull into a driveway when it was hit from behind by a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV driven by Anthony Arrington.

Arrington’s 7-year-old daughter was in the backseat. She was taken to the Medical College of Georgia Hospital where she received stitches on her head.

Avery’s passenger, Diane Gaines, was flown to the hospital by helicopter. Both women were being treated in the emergency room Saturday night, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Silas said Arrington was charged with following too closely.
