Man hurt in wreck that closed Peach Orchard Road for more than an hour

Peach Orchard Road was closed for more than an hour Thursday night after a wreck that seriously injured an elderly man.

According to Richmond County Sheriff’s Deputy Terry Skinner, the man, whose identity was not released, was driving a black Ford Ranger pickup truck on Scott Road when he pulled in front of a white Chevrolet Impala in the 2400 block of Peach Orchard Road.

The man was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital. The male driver of the Impala was not injured.

The wreck happened just before 10 p.m.
