The interior of a home in the the 1600 block of Central Avenue was damaged by a fire Tuesday afternoon.

The fire department was called to the 1600 block of Central Avenue around 3:15 p.m. to find the home’s interior engulfed in flames, said interim shift commander Ivan Bolgla.

It took almost two hours to extinguish the fire. No one was injured.

What on earth...

... is an interim shift commander? Last I heard, Bolgla was a chief officer with the Augusta Fire Department.
