Border Bash to feature live music and cheerleaders from Georgia, South Carolina

Both unbeaten and ranked in the top 10 in national polls, the Georgia and South Carolina football teams will collide Saturday night in Columbia.

But first, there will be Border Bash. The event brings together fans of both universities at Augusta Common to raise money for area children’s charities and organizations.

The event begins at 4 p.m. Friday and will feature cheerleaders from both the University of Georgia and the University of South Carolina. Mascots Cocky and Hairy Dawg will make appearances.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the gate, with ages 12 and younger admitted free. VIP tickets cost $50 for adults and $10 for children. Tickets are available at Circle K, Hooters and Communigraphics, and at borderbash.net.

Cowboy Mouth and Joe Stevenson Band will provide entertainment.

STREET CLOSINGS

Street closings for Border Bash are as follows: westbound Broad Street in front of Augusta Common between Eighth and Ninth streets and the right lane of eastbound Reynolds Street between Eighth and Ninth.

Both of these lanes will be closed from 8 a.m. Friday until 1 a.m. Saturday, organizers said.

This should be a great game to watch !!! Once all came south for the bowl games. Now all come south to see superior football teams.

Maybe this is the much predicted, "The South will rise again". But it only happens on Saturday in the Fall. LOL
