  • Follow Metro

Augusta State University will host Look Up at Night, Augusta, an astronomy program that will give residents the opportunity to view the planets, stars and other space objects.

The free event will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday in ASU’s D. Douglas Barnard Jr. Amphitheatre. Physics instructor Grant Thompson will facilitate the program and will begin with a brief lecture about the moon.

Participants will then be able to use ASU telescopes for an observation session in the nearby sports field.

In case of inclement weather, the program will be moved indoors to N126 Allgood Hall.

For more information, call (706) 667-4515 or e-mail Thompson at gthomp13@aug.edu.
