A 25-year-old woman has died after being struck by a vehicle this morning.

Richmond County Chief Deputy Coroner Mark Bowen identified the woman as Elizabeth Oerman, of Ridge Spring, S.C.

Richmond County sheriff’s Capt. Scott Gay said a gold Toyota Camry struck Oerman as she attempted to cross the southbound lanes of Deans Bridge Road at Golden Camp Road around 6:45 a.m.

Gay said the driver had a green light when the woman darted into traffic, stopped, and then proceeded to attempt to cross the road.

Oerman died instantly from her injuries, Bowen said.

The incident remains under investigation.
