Car fire slows traffic

A vehicle fire slowed traffic Sunday night on Knox Avenue in North Augusta.

First-responders were called to the fire near the Knox Avenue Kroger about 7:30 p.m. after passers-by called police.

Lt. Richmond Lamb said the driver had parked the car and called a wrecker after noticing a spark. But the driver left when the vehicle caught fire.

No injuries were reported.
