Rants & Raves

RAVES TO THE Chronicle, University Hospital, Radio Station WAFJ, the Legends Club and all the vendors and other sponsors of the Women’s Wellness Expo. Everything was extremely well organized and very much appreciated!

TO THE MAN IN THE white Dodge Minivan at the Evans Walmart. I pray that no one ever talks to you like you talked to the child in your car. Nothing that he/she did could have been that bad for my family to hear you ranting across two lanes of parked cars! Thank you for a teaching opportunity for me to share with my children on how to NOT treat them.

PEOPLE KEEP FORGETTING that Bush tax cuts for the wealthy are still going on. If the ultra-rich folks would not step forward even during Bush’s watch years ago to help out the economy and create American jobs, where in tarnation can you think that we need to extend such tax cuts for the ultra rich for?

LABRADOR RETRIEVERS must be the gigolos of the dog world since most all pet adoption photos state that the dog in picture is a Lab mix.

HOW CAN WE FEED SOMEONE junk food for 15 years (through food stamps), and now Medicaid is paying for their gastric bypass? Taxpayers shouldn’t have to pay for this!

EVERY CITIZEN OF THE USA needs to go see Obama 2016. It answered so many questions that I had. This is bigger than black/white liberal/conservative. The entire country has been duped. The film will leave you speechless.

PLEASE, SCOTT PEEBLES, come to Thomson, Ga., and apply for the chief of police position. The person in charge does not have a clue and is not state certified. Please help.

RANT TO THE Board of Regents. The board decided that the use of “Augusta” would project a community or regional school and not the national prominence they wanted. If this board had only looked 100 miles north they would see Clemson University, which shares its name with a village much smaller than Augusta yet has both national and international prominence that GRU will never achieve in our lifetime.

PEEBLES WAS most qualified to be sheriff. The cartoon in the paper depicting the nonvoter told a sad story. The next time we think that our vote doesn’t count, think again.

There is bad blood between GT

There is bad blood between GT and ND. They play each other from time to time and after a particular game in the late 60's, football player friends of my husband spoke of things they did on the field.

And yes, I, as a football players' mom, realize that it goes back to coaching.

Notre Dame's 5 ACC games

Notre Dame's 5 ACC games won't be that hard to do. They already play 4 this year if you count Pitt as one. They play Miami, Wake Forest, Boston College and Pitt. I was hoping Clemson and Ga Tech ended up on the schedule. Maybe they will eventually if the teams rotate.

This a re-post:

"..the land that our embassies are on
in foreign countries is considered sovereign property of the US..."

Silly man. That is only a convention among civilized nations; it does not apply to savages. We, meaning The Obamessiah and his haggard mouthpiece, have apologized --twice-- to the islamists, so let's move on.

((Perhaps rightly, the AC doesn't allow criticism of muslims for fear of retribution. But hang around sometime when the subject of Christianity comes up. But they don't randomly murder to show their deep faith.))

Republicans in Congress will

Republicans in Congress will hold another right - wing mainstream news press ,here shortly, try to manipulate the Amercan people again by lying that President Obama want to raise taxes on the middle class and if the Bush tax cuts expire the economy will see more jobs loss, that's not truth. The Republican Party always been the party to help rich folks. If you rich you need to vote Republican, but if you poor, working middle class you should vote Democrat. House Tea Party Republicans fought to the end to maintain the Bush tax breaks for the wealthiest 2%, but the Democrats in the Senate voted to end the millionaires' tax breaks and preserve middle class tax cuts. House Speaker John Boehner and Republicans will let the Senate bill die, more proof whose side they are on, the rich.

It was where boys who had

It was where boys who had slight behaving problems were threatened with, my very wonderful husband before I met him included.

Actually I did have a cousin my age who went there. Wait. He was the adopted son of a cousin of my mother's.

Roadkill and others

To be absolutely factual, our President did not apologize to the radicals that attacked our embassy. That statement, by embassy officials and not the President, was made BEFORE any attack and was intended to try and reduce tensions. The statement was issued in regards to increased tensions in Cairo and not Libya. Romney was poorly informed on this major point and shamefully sought to score political points before the family's of two of the victims in the Libyan attackes were notified of their loved one's deaths. What a weak, opportunistic foreign policy hack Romney is. The man has no skills whatsoever. He panders to those like him, that believe there are simple answers to complex problems. And to the poster that said something to the effect that Libya should be reduced to rubble, well that's horribly wrongheaded and lacks any consideration for the thousands of women, children and men that had absolutely nothing to do with the embassy attack. Sad that Romney is the best that the Republicans could put up against our President. The filmmakers and Preacher Jones should be sued in civil court for causing the needless deaths and property damage.

Tullie, I don't view the military aspect of the school as any kind of punishment

Riverman..I don't view it as a punishment either..I don't know where you got that idea?? For either place as a matter of fact. It looks like to me both places have the same objective.

For some reason, you do not seem to be getting my point at all and do not understand what I have been trying to say. So, I am going to drop it.

Addressing This To Others

We all recognize the problem is the socioeconomic class of the families and the values the kids are taught, but all we do is repeat those facts without trying SOMETHING.

Remember when Ross Perrot ran for president and he came up with an idea about a sort of head start program in neighborhoods for very youngs kids as a way to break the cycle of poor school performance? He was willing to put an idea out there. That's what I'm doing.

Let's look at other ways to improve the RC schools. Let them find camaraderie and pride in accomplishing military like tasks which would blend well with academics and good behavior. It could be that would break the hold of the poor, crime ridden neighborhoods.

It shouldn't cost that much more because the students are being shifted around. I'll listen to any concrete ideas anyone wants to bring up. Remember this is NOT a program for dropouts like is run at Ft. Gordon.
