RANTS TO THE CHAMBER having Dr. Ricardo Azziz as a speaker and charging $30 to $40 for the registration. Also, to The Augusta Chronicle for being a sponsor.
FOR ALL THE MONEY the Regents paid for a consultant, a simple Internet search should have disqualified “GRU” – Glavnoye Razvedyvatel’noye Upravleniye – the foreign military intelligence main directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (formerly the Soviet Army General Staff of the Soviet Union). Way to go – can you get your money back now? Maybe Putin will take some graduate courses.
HUGE RAVE FOR BILLY Morris. Sad at the same time. Sad that he felt so strongly about the lack of community consideration that he resigned the board, but proud at the statement he makes in doing so. I say get rid of Ricardo Azziz; he obviously couldn’t care less about our magnificent community and the local heritage he destroys.
IN OCTOBER I WAS a patient at Doctors Hospital, fifth floor. I got a lot of great nursing care but I have been unable to say thank you to one special nurse. Mary Bush was my angel, and I will never forget her. I sent a card to her in care of the hospital but it was returned and no one could help me reach her.
WHAT AN ABSOLUTE shame Scott Peebles was not elected as the Democratic candidate for sheriff of Richmond County. This is a loss for Richmond County.
AUGUSTA, YOUR CITY IS going to nothing including the school board. You see thugs are on every corner doing crimes. I hope the new sheriff in town can fix the problem.
I GUESS THE PEOPLE of Richmond County are happy now that there will be a new sheriff in town. Mr. Roundtree, I hope you know that being a leader is more than saying OK. Remember, you are in the driver’s seat.
AUGUSTA JUNIOR College, Augusta College and Augusta State University all have “Augusta” in their names. Why couldn’t the name Augusta be included the merger of ASU and GHSU?
GRU IS AN honorable name. The dysfunctional Augusta government makes the city of Augusta the laughingstock of the state. I would not want Augusta in the name, either.
