Savannah River Ecology Lab will hold a “Touch an Animal Day” on Saturday to allow visitors to examine and handle local wildlife and learn more about native plants and animals.
A variety of reptiles, amphibians, mammals, birds, bugs, plants and more will be out with handlers for close encounters. Visitors can even touch snakes and alligators.
SREL scientists will also be on hand to answer questions and educate guests about diverse flora and fauna all around us.
The event, from 9 a.m. to noon, is free and open to the public and will be held at the University of Georgia SREL Conference Center on U.S. Highway 278. No SRS security badge is needed.
