Comments from readers:

THE CATHY FAMILY, owners of Chick-fil-A, have a God-given right to believe and have their opinions. We all have our individual rights and opinions. It is a thinking process. I like Chick-fil-A. It’s a good product, and I will continue eating there. What they are thinking is none of my business, and what I’m thinking is none of their business.

I KEEP SEEING commercials from AT&T about texting and driving. AT&T, make your phones so that the text function doesn’t work if the phone is moving more than 5 mph. Other phone companies, make your phone so it doesn’t text if it’s moving more than 5 mph. We won’t need these commercials.

I AM SO SICK AND tired of the First Friday mess. People, get a life. Put God first instead of feeding the devil on First Friday. Pick up your Bible. Have a Bible study, and let God do the rest.

THEY WILL SAY, “What will you have?” I will say, “Two dozen Chick-fil-A’s.”

THE WHOLE U.S. Constitution is no more than 16 pages long. Yet a single (unfinished) parking deck in Augusta requires “about 100 pages of documents.” There’s no reason for such confusion from government. Either it’s deliberate (criminal?) or it’s incompetent (dumb). Those are the only two choices.

ENOUGH! RICARDO AZZIZ needs to pack up his carpetbag and go back to wherever he came from.

I WANT TO KNOW why a “state-related’’ ballot question was not on my Columbia County ballot? Gambling on horse racing in Georgia. Even though I don’t gamble, should not every state-related question be on all county ballots?

A BIG RAVE TO Felande Ross for his courage in entering a burning house to save a 4-year-old child. Such a selfless, brave act says a great deal about the character of this young man. God bless him.

THE ARGUMENT THAT God doesn’t care what you look like is a valid point. However, you owe him the common courtesy of “dressing up” when you go into his house to worship and pray to him. It shows respect for him and also for yourself and your fellow worshippers. If you dress up to go out to some other social occasion you should do it for the Lord.

Worshiping

What if you want to say a prayer and worship God in the shower? Do you not think that God knows what you look like naked? Of course this is assuming that you believe in God.

Chick-fil-a & GRU

These have got to be the most over hyped articles on the AC in many a year, even exceeding Obama's birth certificate.

Freddie Sanders Must Be Smiling

Sanders, the straight forward candidate Republican, went to the NAACP meeting and told everyone exactly what he felt. He was even met with a slight applause. Scott Peebles on the other hand kowtowed to the crowd there and told everyone how he would change the RCSO with more black officers.

What’s interesting is the other night he had a get-together with lots of food at the Julian Smith Casino. Photos have been posted online of the event and I didn’t see even one black person. I mean not one. I suppose there could have been a black person there, but with the photos that covered the entire building, I never saw one.

Does that seem duplicitous after just telling the NAACP how concerned you are about blacks in the RCSO? Should we ask Peebles about the crowd or just go ahead and ask Sam Nicholson and Lewis Blanchard?

Save your vote for the Republican Freddie Sanders, the man who has no handlers.

To the first Rant/Raver about

To the first Rant/Raver about the Cathy family's opinions on gay marriage...we all have to remember something important..Mr. Cathy was ASKED what his view was. He didn't announce, on his own, what his opinion was..he was asked. His answer was taken and broadcast, and twisted and turned into something "they" want to call hate. He just answered a question. BTW, I think I'll have a chicken sandwich for lunch today.

Dead heat in Ohio

Respondents to the Rasmussen poll gave strong marks to Romney's vice presidential pick, Paul Ryan: 51 percent of those surveyed had a favorable opinion of Ryan and 39 percent had an unfavorable opinion (respondents to the poll were told that Ryan was Romney's vice presidential candidate before being asked to rank him). Respondents were more divided on Ryan's readiness to be president: 38 percent said he was, while 41 percent said he was not. However, by a 49 percent-to-22 percent plurality, Rasmussen responents said Romney's selection of Ryan was the right choice.

I wish people would start messing with the minds of pollsters & give them some out of the norm answer.....

So when I write a comment

So when I write a comment I try to think what words will show up as the title. Of course you can always write your own title, but it's kind of fun to get the right words at the start to make a good automatic title. Geez, how boring can my life be? Heh.

Dressing your sins.

THE ARGUMENT THAT God doesn’t care what you look like is a valid point. However, you owe him the common courtesy of “dressing up”...

God looks at the heart, not the outward appearance. Men look at the outward appearance, not the heart.

Dressing up for church is simply dressing up for others to see how good you look. The act of dressing up is an excuse for hiding your sins. God doesn't care what you're wearing, He cares about how you're living.

Many an expensive suit of clothing hides a multitude of sins.

What a family

Yesterday my sister told me she had to put up a privacy fence.....she lives in the North Ga mountains & has had a good relationship with her neighbors til recently......seems the next door nabor found a new girlfriend after his wife passed away....& trouble came to this peaceful community setting when the new gal came in...

She (new gal) is from the north & knows NOTHING about gentle southern ways....the new gal planted shrubs/flag poles & etc on my sis land....the new gal complained about EVERYTHING.....logs in my sis yard---noise from chain saw cutting wood for winter & on & on....

Soooo my sis had enough.....just so happens the nabor has been using my sis driveway for YEARS.....now after fence went up he is blocked from the driveway & only has a dinky single drive next to slim side of his house.....welll it has hit the fan ...so to speak...haha

He is now begging my sis to sell him a slice of land so he can use drive again....of course he had to remove plants-shrubs-flagpoles from her land also......oooh what a wicked web we weave .........that will teach him to bring in a know-it-all gal friend!!!

Better than a soap opera....:)

The Rude Neighbor Syndrome Is Everywhere

Yeah, that's kind of a metaphor for some of the people you run into in life. I had an old guy who lived out here on the river all his life. He was the kind of stuff you could make a reality show about. He was a real Riverman and I had him in mind when I created this name.

He lived off the grid in every way. He didn't mind knocking on my door at night asking me if I had any liquor either. But he was the type I didn't mind having for a neighbor. He was a helpful old guy and a no pressure type neighbor if you know what I mean. I didn't have to try hard to keep up with him.

Well, he finally got bought out when he couldn't afford the taxes the way property values went up and his old house was torn down for a new one. Nice people live there now and I'm sure they won't knock on my door at night asking me if I have any liquor, but there's something missing when we don't have people that live off the bigger grid.

Live & let live

Why is it so hard for some folks to do just that.....we can't all think alike....believe alike....dress alike...
My granmom was a good ole fashioned lady....she seldom complained about others......she had many friends...of all kinds..it was a joy to be around her.......she lived by that...Live & let live....

I remember seeing a sign in South Carolina at a work crew on the roads & it said...
Let em work--let em live....

Scary

It is troublesome and sad how little the masses know about our political process. Regarding the "state-related" ballot question of ranter # 7, the local party organizations are allowed to put non-binding (i.e., straw poll) questions on their ballots in the party primaries. If you pick up a democrat ballot, you get the democrat questions. If you pick up a republican ballot, you get the republican questions. Since the parties don't consult with each other, the questions will be different. Also, the questions are done locally, so you may have different questions in Augusta versus questions in Columbus.

Rm, a bone to pick with you. I went through Who's following Who's and I found I was not on your list. Does my gun pointing at you intimidate you? How about a picture instead of that ugly unknown thing.

Sorry, had to pick on someone today. lol lol
