An Interstate 20 lane closure has been scheduled for today while crews make repairs to an area where a dump truck overturned Monday.
One lane on eastbound I-20 near mile marker 192 in Columbia County will be closed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. while Department of Transportation maintenance crews clean the accident site and remove the damaged vehicle.
Police said the truck blew a tire and crashed through a guardrail, landing in a deep ditch in the median shortly before 2 p.m.
The truck’s driver, May Hughes Wimberly, 48, of Waynesboro, Ga., was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
