Chazaray Robinson was named to the dean’s list at Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He is the son of Andrew L. and Mary A. Robinson and is a graduate of Butler High School and Pennsylvania State University.

Basic training

Navy Seaman Vanessa Alvarado has completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. She is the daughter of Semyramis Alvarado of Clarksville, Tenn., and Victor M. Alvarado of Hephzibah.

Kevin Wade was named Georgia Rotary Student Program Trustee 2012-13 for Rotary District 6920. Ricardo Bravo was named Georgia Rotary Student Program trustee and literacy chairman for Rotary District 6910. Pam Lightsey was named district director for the Georgia Rotary Student Program for District 6920.

Graduates

Paul Aenchbacher, Bryan Bell, Dereck Calhoun, Lawrence Lloyd, Hilda McDonald, Mark Smith, Rory Vaughn and Travis Young graduated from the Georgia Health Sciences University Paramedic Course.

NAACP Awards

Augusta Branch NAACP members Branch President Dr. Charles J. Smith, Life Membership Chairwoman Viola B. Elam, WIN Chairwoman Shirlene Ball, HBCU Chairman Paul Thompkins, Voter Empowerment/Membership Chairman Inger Carter and Health Chairwoman Dr. Beulah Nash-Teachey each received the National NAACP Convention Million Dollar Club Award for outstanding membership recruitment and for soliciting more than $1,000 each in memberships. Smith was honored for receiving his fourth Million Dollar Award and his fourth 100K Club National Award for recruiting more than 100 members. He was also re-elected as the national convention credentials chairman.
