The final meeting of a task force making recommendations for the monthly First Friday event is 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The meeting will be held at the Augusta-Richmond County Library headquarters, 823 Telfair St., in meeting room A.

The downtown event resumes Friday after a July 6 shooting injured six people on Broad Street. The incident spurred talks about safety measures, regulating street vendors and controlling late-night crowds after the official event concludes.

This week’s festivities include new family friendly activities on the Augusta Common and a ticketed concert at Jessye Norman Amphitheater.

Bloodkin on the river !!! So far results are good. I'll have to do some hands on research with the quality of crafted beer available and sample quite a number of hors d'oevres before coming to any conclusions though.
