Daniel Field works toward settlement on construction costs

  • Follow Metro

The General Aviation Commission voted Monday to continue working toward a settlement with the contractor of a $1.8 million terminal renovation at Daniel Field airport.

The commission agreed to pay Athens, Ga.-based Pinnacle USA Inc. $39,219 for outstanding issues that the airport has been negotiating for several months with the contractor.

The disputes include paving work that was not in the original contract and never approved by a change order request, and pavement that was lower than surroundings, creating a safety hazard.
