HATS OFF TO THE recent author workshops hosted by the downtown library. And for free, too! I sure hope they will do more of that and be sure to announce them more ahead of time.

LEE ANDERSON (GOP candidate vs. Barrow) says he wants to cut “each and every (federal government) department 5-10 percent.” Why not completely obliterate the obviously unconstitutional departments, e.g., FDA, Dept. of Education, etc.?

A RANTER SAYS if churches paid property taxes there’d be no deficit. Will churches’ taxes amount to $15 trillion? Politicians don’t care how much money government grabs; they always want more.

RAVE FOR THE Columbia County Tax Assessors Office. They valued my boat 9 percent more this year. I’ll use it for the next 10 years, then sell it to them and buy a yacht. I’ve never had a boat or vehicle increase in value every year.

MORE NONVIOLENT CRIMINALS should be used for grass cutting and other outdoor maintenance chores that we obviously don’t have enough paid city workers to handle. I would say there should be enough of them to use from probation status to also have them cut the grass of elderly homeowners or even of abandoned properties.

REPUBLICANS CLAIM TO be deficit hawks, but they refuse to raise taxes on the nation’s wealthiest by even one cent. Rather, they have proposed gutting nearly every program working-class Americans rely on just to get by.

TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO claim they will pull the new health care laws that were confirmed by the Supreme Court: Let’s hope it’s you and your relatives who reach the current cap in medical expenses and then wish there weren’t. Let’s see you and your kin be rejected for coverage of pre-existing conditions. Can you then get Romney to get some of his Cayman Island funds to cover your medical expenses you did not want covered by the new, wonderful health care laws?

OBAMA IS ORDERING Border Patrol agents to run from any “active shooter.” In other words, Obama is ordering our guards to not enforce the laws they are hired to enforce.

Income pay gap

A big article in the AJC says.....
One of the reasons for the huge income gap between rich & poor is the single parent home....this goes for all colors...
Single parenthood seen as a bigger deterrent to kids ' upward mobility....
We have seen the results of the last years of single parents (no not all but most)kids w/o a father in the home suffer.....we see it everyday..

The Real Deal Evander

The Real Deal Evander Holyfield is at the Braves game today sitting to the left behind home plate beside a guy in a blue shirt. He is wearing a white hat and shirt. 7 seats over. You can see him when the shot is of the pitcher getting ready to throw to the batter.

I think techfan missed my point entirely. Not only will I still be paying for my own insurance but also paying the premiums for those too damn sorry to work.

Techfan, you may want to reread my posts earlier in the week about the "care" I got using government health care.

Oops, got caught up doing

Oops, got caught up doing something else and got an abuse warning on my Polynesian Cultural Center post as spam:

http://polynesianculturalcenter.com/?gclid=CJPHo7XfnLECFeSMTAodeGUiow

A nice little theme park run by the Mormon Church, that has nothing to do with religion and nothing to do with charity, it's simply a for profit theme park that operates tax free (Hawaii did finally tag them for property taxes). Why should the Mormons be given an edge over someone who operates any other business that has to pay taxes? Make the churches have full disclosure on the part of their income that goes to charity and force them to pay taxes on everything else (proselytizing by sending some poor kid in Africa a Bible is not charity). We'd also probably see a rapid decrease in the number of churches when those who use it as a get rich quick scheme have the IRS calling.
