ALBANY, Ga. — Georgia authorities say an 11-year-old girl killed her foster mother’s puppy because the woman refused to take her somewhere.
Authorities said the incident happened Sunday at a townhome where the girl was placed for care.
Trooper Mark Cepiel says the girl asked to go somewhere and the foster mother refused. The trooper says the girl later caused injuries to the dog, which died.
The puppy was a King Charles Spaniel, but Cepiel wouldn’t say how it died.
The girl was charged with felony counts of criminal mischief and animal cruelty.

News?

Man, am I glad there was not this kind of scrutiny when I was a kid. My dad asked my brother and I to kill this hen pecked sickly chicken who was really in bad shape. Neither of us wanted to do it so we devised a plan. We dug a hole to bury it in and layed the poor hen next to it. My brother was to whack the chicken in the head with a stick and I was to quickly throw it in the hole and bury it. Neither of us wanted to look and he apparently missed and I ended up burying the chicken alive. Glad no one reported us.

This story is awful and makes

This story is awful and makes me feel sick to my stomach. It definitely doesn't say much for the future of this child if something isn't done to help her. I do wonder what makes this a "top feature" though...

This is definitely not a good sign

Heaven only knows what's going on with this kid, but it doesn't sound promising at all. Still, for us to see this in our local paper indicates an exceedingly slow news night.

(Jake, you should be ashamed of yourself! I have an terrible stitch in my side from uncontrolled laughter.)

There was a time that animals

There was a time that animals were dispatched out of need, or lack thereof; but today we have a different perspective. We value pets with a passion bordering on psychosis (witness previous thread on breaking and entering a vehicle to rescue a dog in distress). Anyone that would deliberately harm or kill a puppy is disturbed and needs intervention.

Life lessons

As a young boy with a BB gun I went against my fathers teachings which were "never shoot anything you don't intend to eat". Do you know what a tempting target a blue jay makes for an 11 year old with a BB gun? Well, my dad saw what I did and had my mother cook that bird for my supper. Trust me, blue jays were NOT intended for human consumption.

time for that foster mother

time for that foster mother to return that child to the state, leth them deal with her, she has serious anger problems. no need for the foster mother to put her life/health at risk because when she gets older she will then transfer her anger to people...headline "teenager kills foster/adoptive mother in fit of rage" the foter mom should not put her self in danger just to continue to receive a monthly check.
