IF YOUR PET IS missing, check Richmond County Animal Services facility on Mack Lane right away. If you are looking to adopt, check there first and save a life. There are many cats and dogs there of many breeds, ages, sizes and colors, all needing a chance to have a forever home.

A BIG RAVE TO THE beautiful staff of Building 15 at East Georgia Regional on Mike Padgett Highway. Thanks to all, especially nurses W. Owens, Wesby and all who helped my sister return to herself and see how precious life is. God Bless you all.

MANY RECEIVE requests in the mail for donations from nonprofit organizations – and the mail contains a coin (a dime, nickel, penny). Should I feel guilty because I don’t send it back because I already gave to that organization over the year? It would be interesting to find out how other folks feel about it.

IT’S TOUGH WORKING extremely long hours all week long then wanting to buy food at the grocery only to find a lot of what you want is too expensive for your budget. What’s even tougher is seeing folks who haven’t worked hard a day in their lives buying whatever they like with food stamps that you paid for.

GIVE ME A BREAK! What possible difference is “Augusta State University” as compared to “Augusta University” or “University of Augusta? The other choices are ludicrous.

BIG THANK YOU TO Tommy at Pendleton King Park for helping me change my flat tire in the rain. He makes the park a nice place to come to.

WHY NOT LEAVE it “Augusta State University” and save the big amount of money, so they can reduce the bloated tuition rates?

IF I WAS A DOCTOR, I’d prefer to say I was awarded my degree by the Medical College of Georgia rather than any of the other names, proposed or current.

It's Tough Working

I understand, as I experience this weekly at the grocery store. I can't understand why someone who has a large family to feed, feel it necessary to buy 15 or 20 Porterhouse steaks or 10 or 12 hams. I've seen carts with nothing but shrimp and lobster tails in them. Also, at Christmas time, brand new bicycles being returned to Wal-Mart and I'm sure other stores without a receipt to obtain a store card for that amount. Unfortunately, the more freeloaders we have that learn how to abuse the system, the more people that really need help, will suffer. And as the steak and bicycle people become more numerous, they will become the majority and will vote for the people that give them the free stuff, and the working class will lose their voice altogether.

Parking Deck Deal???

"The Marriott as manager, sets the salaries and benefits for the parking deck workers but the city, as the owner pays, those salaries" (from the WJBF web site)

Why are we not hearing the terribly one sided details of this parking deck deal on the AC? Is this not the most stupid thing in the world for our commissioners to agree to pay the people who are hired to run the parking deck whatever salary the Marriott decides that we should pay them. The commissioners have not been told what the salaries would be but we would have to pay them whatever the Marriott, i.e. Augusta Riverfront, i.e. Paul Simon and friends say to pay them. Please tell me that our commissioners, our administrator, and our illustrious legal department are not stupid enough to agree to something like this.

We need to sever all dealings with shadow cabal that runs the city and profits from our tax dollars. The mental midgets we elect and hire are not equipped to deal with these people and protect our interests.

GageCreed... The Savannah

GageCreed...

The Savannah Mitsubushi plant opened in the year 2010, and there doing nothing but expanding at the moment. The Gulfstream project was announced in the year 2010... Those two projects including the Savannah Harbor equal $1,450,000,000....

If you want to bring up the government related expansion(Savannah harbor)... Then you have to mention the plus $1 billion NSA, $5 billion MOX, and over $14 billion Plant Vogtle...

Are you really comparing the $1,450,000,000 in Savannah?

Versus the $20,287,000,000(NSA, MOX, Plant Vogtle, $1 billion Bridgestone, $172 million Starbucks, $115 million Rockwood) in Augusta??

Yeh, well now you will see those same people ahead of you in line at the doctor's office and their bills will be paid by insurance that you paid for too. Ain't socialism wonderful? They will not pay for insurance. They will not pay any penalty. But they will be seeing the same doctor you do so he can keep them healthy enough to eat those steaks they are buying with the food stamps you pay for. Yes, there is class warfare and we know which class has declared war on us.

I forgot the $800 million

I forgot the $800 million Biomass plant at SRS opened in February of this year....

The Alexander rd landscaping begins in the next few weeks...
http://appweb.augustaga.gov/planning_zoning/plazid_display.asp?zID=4356

Both Wheeler rd and Gordon Hwy have recently underwent beautification projects.. Future landscaping projects include Walton Way between 15th/13th in the Medical District, and Riverwatch Pkwy/I-20...

Then we have the $1.8 million grant coming to 15th street, MLK, and Deans Bridge rd... Phase 1 of the 9th street/James Brown Boulevard streetscape project($1.3 million; Reynolds street to Laney Walker) begins this year, and the $1 million GHSU pedestrian park along Laney Walker should break ground in 2012 too...

I swear, sometimes I just

I swear, sometimes I just want to say "Forget it!" (well, not exactly that "F" word, but another) and just throw my "good citizen" cards down and take all the stuff the government is GIVING out for free! Free food, free clothing, free housing, free medical expenses........it just goes on and on, doesn't it? I mean, maybe WE are the idiots who continue to get up and go to work everyday, when we obviously don't have to in order to survive! And with all this free stuff, these people continue to have that feeling of entitlement in other areas of their lives. I know a healthy-freeloader man who goes to one of several places in South Augusta and buys pirated DVDs of movies that have just come out. He claims to be very religious and, when I asked him about it, he said it was okay "with my God" because he paid for it! Yeah, paid $5 for a pirated DVD! The point is, these people just don't see the problem with getting this stuff this way. It's insane. Our country is going to hell and they don't even see how.

Morning America, Friends & TSDs

Back in my early history, "Freedom used to be Free" NOW "Freedom is now to receive it Free"

Back then, to received something Free was a shameful and embarrassing act. If you did receive Free help, the next words out of your mouth would be.."I will repay you back, one way or another."

Columbia County Voters check your new voter registration cards, the Columbia County Conservative Viewpoint has an article about some being wrong. Sorry I can't post a link here, it a NO-NO. My new card had me in the wrong precinct and the wrong commission and school board districts.

Sam Alito

Justice Alito was mouthing "not true" as Obama spoke. I'm not sure about Roberts. But this could all be a plan. The majority of the voters hate this health care TAX so much it will help Romney tremendously.

Fat makes ribeye steaks the best. A big old T-bone is just too much lean dry meat. A juicy ribeye is like 4th of July fireworks.

Dealing with the Feds

So I'm working on getting a federal government contract and one of the things you have to have is something called a Duns Number. I'm online and give them my name and address and they come up with things about me that I didn't know. They ask me what year my boat was manufactured. I'm not even sure the year I bought it much less know the year it was made...so I guess. Heh....wrong. Then they have me confused with my son and start asking me his personal identification questions.

Finally, I end up calling them and, get this, they say just answer his personal ID questions and everything will be fine. I say I don't know them.

We are at an impasse so I tell them to shake out another set of questions and see if I can answer them. Luckily, this time the questions are all things I knew, mostly about me.

First off, I'm amazed what the government knows about people and then I'm amused at their "just answer anyway" attitude even when they have the wrong person. Crazy huh?

About politics

We just don't have happy politicians anymore....why is that? Is it because they are on edge ALL the time with tv crews & cameras 24/7.....

Can you imagine a tv crew watching FDR while he was sitting on Pine Mountain with his love......NO....that didn't happen.......they protected him & I for one think they need to back off some now........we all need some private tme.......just to be alone...
That would be the toughest job .........to have someone follow you all day & night.........uuugggh....who needs that.

one last funnie

thanks l

His name was Bubba, he was from Mississippi ... And he needed a loan, So... He walked into a bank in New York City and asked for the loan Officer. He told the loan officer that he was going to Paris for an International redneck festival for two weeks and needed to borrow $5,000 and that he was not a depositor of the bank. The bank officer told him that the bank would need some form of security for the loan, so the Redneck handed over the keys to a new Ferrari. The car was parked on the street in front of the bank.

The Redneck produced the title and everything checked out. The loan officer agreed to hold the car as collateral for the loan and apologized for having to charge 12% interest.

Later, the bank's president and its officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the Redneck from the South for using a $250,000 Ferrari as collateral for a $5,000 loan. An employee of the bank then drove the Ferrari into the bank's private underground garage and parked it.

Two weeks later, the Redneck returned, repaid the $5,000 and the interest of $23.07. The loan officer said, "Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out on Dunn & Bradstreet and found that you are a Distinguished Alumni from Mississippi State University , a highly sophisticated investor and Multi-Millionaire with real estate and financial interests all over the world. Your investments include a large number of wind turbines around Sweetwater , Texas . What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow $5,000?"

The good 'ole boy replied, "Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks for only $23.07 and expect it to be there when I return?"

His name was BUBBA....

Keep an eye on those southern boys!
