TOO MANY KIDS are dying. Not a lot of people doing anything about it. Too many people knew how these poor little kids were living. I bet the parents were having a fine old time at the club. Praying won’t help this. Execution is a good start for these so-called parents.

MY WATER BILL reads $26.68 for water and $40.14 for sewer. This bill is as much as my power bill. It’s just my wife and I living in the home. My water pressure is 125 psi and should be 60-65 psi. They are ripping us off and we can’t do anything about it.

CLAIMIN’ THE RICH were not paying their share of taxes, the Democrats pushed through the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT). Today the AMT impacts many other taxpayers. Based on their past success of raising taxes under the guise of taxing the rich, the Democrats are again employing this back-door tactic in an attempt to raise taxes. It is past time that a fair tax was developed by an independent committee free from bureaucratic meddling.

TWICE A WEEK trash pickup has always been too much, but yard waste and bulk once a week is not enough. What to do?

FREEZING ON Friday morning and 90 degrees two days later. Those people better quit messing with the weather. PS we need some tropical activity this year. Really. Fill the reservoirs.

FOR THOSE ASTOUNDED at people wearing their jammies to the store, chalk it up to stupidity.

THE TRAYVON MARTIN CASE brought out the worst in people. Now you know who the racists really are. Every time there is a hoop-tee-doo that causes an uproar where all the facts get muddled to the point on one knows what really happened, in steps Al and Jesse to make it part of their race-baiting agenda.

I KNOW YOU ARE not going to print this. Rant to the high and mighty residents in Columbia County. Excuse me, I am also a resident of Columbia County, black, a property owner, and pay taxes. Not everyone in Columbia County are Republicans, you can hang that up. Furthermore, Ronald Reagan did not own a thing in Columbia County, and did not pay one cent of taxes. I do not know where all these newcomers come from, but I sure hope they move back to Augusta, or some place else.

To the last ranter, I agree.

To the last ranter, I agree. I am not a Democrat, but am a libertarian, and I wish all the Augusta escapees would move back there. All they have done at the ballot box is pull the county into the same spend and spend and spend and tax and tax and tax that made the old city bankrupt and brought about the unholy marriage that is consolidation.

Any politico-pig-at-trough who claims it's only "X dollars on a $100K house" should be instantly impeached. In Columbia County, a piano crate painted white is appraised for more than that, worth it or not.

(But we so need the property tax money for Cross & Cabal's monument to himself at Evans.)

Dude, if your water pressure

Dude, if your water pressure is 125psi, your PRV is broken or non-existant. I imagine you blow up garden hoses and wear out a lot of toilet valves with that pressure.

All politicians know that any

All politicians know that any tax that will raise a significant amount of money MUST reach into middle class. It's just a fact. The Democrats talk about a $millionaires tax, readily admit it's really a $250K tax, many of them want a $100K tax, and by the time it gets passed and sent to the IRS it will be a creeping $50K tax. They refuse to listen to the novel idea of cutting spending and eliminating useless and duplicated government agencies and functions.

. Now.....we all have

.

Now.....we all have problems.....even in this area.....but are THEY worth the trouble??
GOB has some age on him.....but he thinks he can still rumble...:):)

Is a man worth fighting for?

My next door neighbor has been flirting with my husband a lot lately. She is always asking him for help with some of the dumbest things. It's like she'll load up her car with heavy things and wait for my husband to cut the grass until she comes home.

She is always wearing things that are ridiculously short and/or tight. This chick waters the grass in a mini skirt and high heels with no bra on.

I know it's my husband's job to keep his member in his pants, but I'm starting to feel insulted by this woman. It's like she's disrespecting me. I don't want to be a controlling B and tell my husband not to be nice to her; he's a nice guy & he's very well known and respected in the neighborhood. But, at the same time, if this woman bends over in front of my husband...I'm gonna stomp her head in.

seenit, take matters into your own hands, dont ask hubby to stop being nice to her, go talk to her and tell her exactly what you think. she will probably stop asking your hubby to do things for her because she is so mad at you.....if not, then you can stomp her head in......

Hey, seenit, the house across

Hey, seenit, the house across the street from me is empty. In order to save her the hospital trip and your husband the trouble of smuggling you cigarettes in the pokey, you didn't specify, but if this one is a hottie, you can advise her to move there. All in the interest of being a helpful fellow poster, you know. No ulterior motive. :-)

My across the street neighbor

My across the street neighbor told the women in the neighborhood to quit calling her husband when they had a problem (ahem), that he is not available :).
The women (with the exception of the abused? wife) had a good laugh.

Been away for a few days and noticed the "discussion" tab is gone. It's difficult to review past comments on articles missed without clicking on every single article on "local", "lastest updates", "opinions", etc...

Was there a reason for it's removal? and Will it be returning?

Hey, seenit. That's exactly

Hey, seenit. That's exactly what happened over at Marshall Square in Evans. The developer said he would build fancy retail and professional office buildings with just a handful of tony apartments. After the commission approved that, he came back saying his original plan was not feasible and he wanted to substitute less-tony apartments for the retail/professional.

Taxpayer-funded minor-league ballparks will never make money. Not in Gwinnett, not in Aberdeen, not in Augusta.

Just look at the taxpayer-funded apartments here in Augusta (J.R. Hatney's love child) that failed and have now been bailed out again by Augusta property tax payers.

These projects serve to channel taxpayer money into public/private "partnerships" and there is no accountability. The developers merely take the money and run, requiring further bail-outs for non-completed or non-performing properties.

I was in west Georgia over

I was in west Georgia over the weekend and got a chance to listen to channel 5, Fox News Atlanta. I saw a story where the Gwinnett developer who wants to operate a casino with video lottery machines was shot down by the Attorney General, so the proposed project is going down in flames. Do you know anything about that, Seenit?

Public-private projects? The

Public-private projects? The public (taxpayers, usually property owners) spends money on projects private investors wouldn't touch. (Note to our politicians: If the idea was soo good, investors would be lined up to get in on it and we, the public wouldn't be given a sniff!) In the once-in-a-millennium they do make money, it goes into private bank accounts. Usually, when the bill is presented as due, the public is handed the bill and the politico's who sold it nowhere to be found.
