• Aiken city offices, county offices, county landfill and drop-off centers, city garbage/recycling, North Augusta city offices and North Augusta city garbage open, running regular schedule Monday

• County schools closed Monday


• County landfill, county offices, Waynesboro city office open Monday

• County schools closed Monday


• County offices, tax assessor, tax commissioner offices open Monday

• County schools closed Monday


• Edgefield city offices, county offices, Johnston city offices, Tri-County Transfer Station open Monday

• County schools closed Monday


• County landfill, offices, Thomson city offices open Monday

• County schools closed Monday


• Augusta Public Transit, Richmond Transit, ADA Paratransit regular service Monday

• Augusta-Richmond County offices open Monday

• No change in residential garbage service

• County schools closed Monday


• Aiken Technical College, Augusta State University, Augusta Technical College, Georgia Health Sciences University, University of South Carolina Aiken open Monday

• Georgia Military College closed Monday


• Aiken-Bamberg-Barnwell-Edgefield Regional Library System, all branches open Monday

• East Central Georgia Regional Library System open Monday

• Federal offices closed Monday

• Most financial institutions closed Monday; Wells Fargo open Monday

• Fort Gordon offices closed Monday

• Georgia state offices closed Monday

• South Carolina state offices closed Monday

• U.S. Postal Service offices closed Monday

Why are the government

Why are the government agencies that are open listed under the heading of "Presidents Day holiday closings"? This can cause some confusion. I know that if people would READ the entire listing, they would see that some government agencies are open, but if someone was to just skim over the "closings", they might be a little confused.
