WHAT IS HAPPENING to society when Rotary Clubs hold casino nights?

RAVE FOR THE ARC/Westside Class of 1972 Reunion Committee. Thank you, committee members, for being willing to put forth such an effort to contact all of your former teachers, principals and administrative staffers and invite them to be your guest at your 40th reunion. … All classmates should make an effort to attend this event. I know I will.

THERE IS ONLY ONE reason that vehicles do not get at least double the miles per gallon they obtain today – greed. There is only one reason fuel prices are so high: greed. When (not if) gas prices go above $5 per gallon, that will be the beginning of the end for life as we know it.

PRODUCTIVE CITIZENS are taxed to pay for extra tutoring for kids who keep failing in school, yet those kids’ parents don’t even take advantage of it. Thus, it’s a waste of tax money, as is nearly all of tax money these days.

I AM ENTIRELY IN favor of reasonable environmental oversight of American industries, but I have seen nothing to give me any confidence in the ability of science to predict the weather in either the short term or the long term. I can’t support actions that will devastate our economy.

ONCE AGAIN, THE media are attempting to pick the Republican candidate instead of allowing the American people to make that decision. Newt Gingrich wins South Carolina by 12.5 percent, and it was reported as a slim victory. Mitt Romney wins Florida by 14 percent and it is touted as a landslide victory.

IF YOU ARE GOING to be out and about in a situation where you don’t feel safe, buy some pepper spray. It’s not very expensive and they come in cute little cases. You can keep them on your pocket book or in your pocket.

THE SOLUTION IS simple: If you don’t want an abortion, don’t have one. If you are against insurance companies paying for contraception or Viagra, don’t buy them. Or you can pay out of pocket for them.
