The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a public meeting Feb. 8 in Atlanta to discuss construction related to the addition of two reactors at Plant Vogtle.
The two-hour meeting will begin at 1 p.m. at NRC offices at 245 Peachtree Center Ave. NW and include discussions by officials from Southern Nuclear and the NRC’s Center for Construction Inspection, according to the agenda.
Though site preparation and related activities have been under way for years, the company is awaiting NRC action on a final combined operating license that would authorize the construction and operation of the new reactors.
About 1,700 workers are employed at the site of Units 3 and 4.
