Local leader to receive Martin Luther King Jr. award

The Martin L. King, Jr. Memorial Observance Committee of the CSRA will surprise a local leader with a lifetime achievement award on Monday.

The honoree will receive the Martin Luther King, Jr. Prestigious Award at the ceremony held at First Baptist Church, 3500 Walton Way. The free event begins at noon, followed by a lunch that costs $8 per person.

The Rev. Larry Fryer, pastor of Hudson Memorial CME Church, will speak at the ceremony. Several other local leaders will receive recognition at the event.
