10-year-old held in shooting death sent to YDC

  • Follow Crime & courts

A 10-year-old who has been linked to Friday’s death of 31-year-old Jennifer Albright in Burke County, Ga., had a detention hearing Tuesday, authorities said.

The youth was sent to Augusta Youth Development Campus and is being represented by attorney Pete Theodocion.

Albright was found dead in her Midville home with a gunshot wound. Three children who were in the home were unharmed.

Officers responded to what they thought was a home invasion that was later determined to be a “domestic situation involving juveniles,” Burke County Sheriff Greg Coursey said.

The sheriff’s office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation investigated. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Pittman Morris and presided over by Judge Willie Saunders.

Ten year old with a new shotgun for Christmas? I was brought up with guns. This gun should never been in his reach. I had BB guns at that age.
I did stupid things with it. But I Learned to respect firearms and so did my child. Tragic.

This is a tragic case for all

This is a tragic case for all concerned, and you are right redrider but a lot of folks out in the country do buy their kids guns at an early age. I have friends who have done it, I don't agree with it but it is a fact of life. There are a lot of small town rumors going around about this case right now and I feel sorry for all involved.

Another feral child? Another

Another feral child?

Another male child "reared" by his parent's ****-girl/-boy?

When will our society learn the wisdom of the late U.S. Senator and Harvard professor Daniel Patrick Moynihan who in the 1960s predicted a marked increase in the number and ferocity of feral youth with the decline of the stable traditional family unit?
