Woman wants happy holidays for kids

  • Follow Metro

A woman whose daughter has been hospitalized for six months with a congenital heart defect that has required three surgeries wants to make her child and a brother happier for the holiday.

“I haven’t been able to work for years,” she writes. “It’s just me taking care of two kids, so I would really be thankful for the help you might give them. They have been through a lot.”

The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 81 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $115,000 for children and families across the region.
