Grandfather caring for grandson requests help

  • Follow Metro

An Augusta grandfather taking care of a disabled grandson would like some help this holiday.

“I quit my job to stay home with him to see that he could get his therapy and medical appointments,” he writes. “I recently went back to work part time, but catching up on household expenses leaves me with no other means to provide a nice Christmas for my grandson and my two daughters who live with me.”

The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 81 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $115,000 that helped children and families across the region.
